thought i should add some feedback i gave on another post here - the new menu/ui update is terrible on console.
(prefacing to say: i have about 800 hours on console and 3,800 on pc. however after the ue5 update, i've been playing more on console becuz it runs better. ANYWAY…)
this latest UI update removed a ton of QoL items that hurt console players (using only controller) more than PC. as others have mentioned, customizations are now inside of another menu; they removed the ability to swap characters with R/L thumbsticks, which is even worse on controller because you have to move the terrible on screen cursor to move around menus now to go to the next character; and some shortcuts like directional pad to go to the dailies, options, etc. (update: these DO STILL WORK, but they removed the UI text telling you on console, very weird!)
removing some of this stuff from console was a bad move.
additionally, as i also mentioned elsewhere, typically people have their consoles under/near their TVs, and a lot of folks sit on the couch or whatever, not right in front of a monitor like at a desk w/ a PC…so, why on earth would the in game hud have been made smaller and more compact? and this isn't even taking into account accessibility or vision impairment. i already have my settings all to max/largest, etc. on console and i keep having to get up and lean in to read the end game screen.
and i don't even wear glasses! 🙃

for any console players, i just figured out - even though the on screen labels are gone, indicating the hotkeys for dailies, friends and settings - they do still work. so you can still hit left on the D pad to get to your dailies, etc.
unfortunately, this does not extend to swapping to the next character in lobby/when leveling the bloodweb, etc. etc. that has just been completely removed.

so, quick update! apparently the hot key shortcuts to the dailies, friends list, and settings still work - they just, inexplicibly, removed the on-screen labels for console. very odd and i'm assuming an oversight.
unfortunately, this does not apply to switching characters. :( that functionality has just been removed.

BHVR keeps removing hotkeys when they should be adding more. Hotkeys are important for console players. BHVR's consideration for console players and what we need is abysmal. Just because PC players don't need it doesn't mean other players don't.
absolutely. it's nuts. i put a longer comment on the UI on another post but it's gone…i think bcuz my email is not confirmed (which can't happen cuz ya girl's dumb ass spelled their email wrong…….)
anyway, the fact we have to now use the cursor for even more things and in sub menus is an abhorrent design choice and i am starting to wonder if they let their console UI person(s) go….

i would also like to add, BHVR needs to consider than many console players do not play sitting at a desk - but, instead, on the couch/across from the TV. the changes to many in game menus/text, which are now smaller, are very hard to read.
specifically the end game screen. obviously, we have no custom icons on consoles - and i have been playing this for 3 years yet i keep having to get up and move closer to the screen to see what perks and add ons/items are on the end game screen. it's so damn small.

i play on both console and PC (PC primary, but console my oldest account from PS plus) - anyway, i agree. i understand the need to improve and update the menus but this patch seems like no one considered console players at all.
there's other shortcut taps missing too - like to pull up the daily. it's very, very difficult navigating this game w/ the on screen cursor on console. however, there used to be easier ways to get around that made it not too annoying.

PS5 (in this instance, I also play on PC but have not experienced the strobing (yet) on PC.)
when it started: right after pickup in basement. stopped after i unhooked myself (wicked). then started again during end game tally screen. this is the 3rd time i've noticed the strobing on console. prior 2 times, only remember seeing it during the endgame tally.
i have a video but it won't let me upload here, submitting through bug/player support form. -
I encountered both of the instances you did (both as survivor.) I will try to comb through my captures for the room. It's also one of the smaller rooms where gens can spawn. I just kept teleport looping back inside next to the gen every time I walked out the door. I finally got my sprint burst back and even thought it did still teleport me back, somehow the sprinting finally got me out of the loop. I have only had this crazy infinite loop rubberbanding on Hawkins. There must be something wonky in the code for this map.

Additionally, I have faced it in a build with OTHER hexes on the killer where I did not have an available totem for my plaything and therefore I could NEVER cleanse it. This needs to be killswitched. Thanks!
