And yet when I point out that a good Trickster can and will land nearly every knife at every loop and relatively quickly and extremely consistently downs people even when they are counterplaying him I get told I'm an idiot and that I don't know what I'm talking about and probably also something about how I'm cheating?
Punctuation is nice. In extreme moderation.
you are right. a good trickster will land almost every knife when he has line of sight. that is why you are supposed to play differently against him and huntress than against for example a trapper. the main objective when he pulls out his knife is to not stand in line of sight even when you have to give up some distance in order to achieve that. at some point he will have to swap to his m1 weapon again and loop you normaly because many loops deny him his ability to hit you.

The trickster is not a good killer!
Just take look at the huntress that can hit you once to make a hit over more range and then at the trickster that needs 7or 8 knives i think.
In my experience you can just get behind cover on almost every map and completely counter him by looping around a semi high wall ( like the haybales on the farm maps or the blue barrels or any high rock) any survivor that has played two games against him will know how to outplay him.
Now to the controller problem,
obviously controller players have a disadvantage compared to PC players, but hear me out, and dont tell any one of this secret strategy I developped: dont play the trickster on controller!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hello dear Dead by Daylight Community,
I played DBD about a year back and started again last week.
I never had any toxic killers or survivors in my games. I watched a few Otzdarva videos and just copied his behaviour as a Killer.
If i have a really good game and am able to kill all the survivors I just dont. In my opinion the game is way more enjoyable for everyone if you let the last survivor live. They will be happy about it and often thank you in chat after the game. Next time you get an easy 4k try to let the survivors have fun and play with them a bit. You dont need to slug the survivors if they still need 5 gens to win.
Also I dont think any of the people that complain about the toxic DBD community have ever played another game. For example two Pro-play classics: League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global offensive are extremely toxic games. In CSGO your mother gets insulted by some random russian guy (no racism intended) every game in voice chat and in league of legends the ingame chat is used to blame you for any mistake your teammates made.
I think the Internet being an anonnimous place makes people extremely toxic in general so my advice to you is: Just have fun, try to make the game fun for the other players and dont get saddened by some ######### insulting you for your playstyle :)
