Playstation 4 Dedicated Server first impressions
Location: Italy
Rank: 1 (surv and killer)
Ping: 50-65 ms (much lower than basically every game I had with p2p connection)
Match Making: the time to find a match seems the same overall, I saw some very low ranks playing with / against me in some matches but it could just be a chance and not related to dedicated servers.
Issues: from the survivor POV I'm getting hit during certain jukes when I shouldn't have been, while as a killer we have the fake grabs and, sometimes, a delay before being able to move after hitting a generator. I tried only Legion and Spirit so far though.
Welcome to dedicated servers where you will never know what is a hit, whiff, or grab until after it plays out. Even if it appears to be a killer whiff after the animation there is a second or 2 where the server might say it was a hit. Exhaustion perk delays are terrible as well where you might as well use them before you think you need them because there is a high chance the server will just nope an exhaustion perk yet still grant a survivor the exhaustive state even after the perk never registered being used to the server which is basically a double negative which causes player frustration.

Windows and pallets are worse than before. This kind of thing happens every game (on GOOD ping) https://youtu.be/ODKdnLrLNHQ
on "30 ping" dedicated servers i have also run into bad desync with the server where killers are getting hits on hit boxes that are way behind myself. I juked a billy 3 outta 5 chainsaws and both times he hit me I juked and was 4 - 5 meters to their right /left and on my screen he just went forward and didn't turn into me. Then I have had the windows and pallets where killer was way far off getting hits after pallets have dropped and their weapon bounces off the pallet. Even my client is getting mixed messages as to what the heck is going on. Devs either fix the desync problem alot of people are having including streamers or let us choose to play dedicated servers or p2p matches. Pretty much the current state they are in they are gonna kill the pc community. I for one am growing pretty tired of the frustration of a 30 ping lobby having desync issues like 150-200 ping games.

Sorry for the late response USA East coast.

Where to start ...
1.Long queue times to end up in a 128 ping dedicated server.
2.Desync in both 60 ping and 128 ping dedicated servers making the ping feel like 2x-3x the latency. Killer can be in the area of 10 meters behind you and get hit through pallet as his client says he hit you but on survivor client he whiffed.
3.No option to not play dedicated servers.
4.Unknown error. Before game . After game.
5.Cant use dead hard to evade attacks. Dead hard will give you exhaustion but no invincibility frames.
I cannot wait for dedicated servers to be turned off... they are crushing my soul.

Not sure how somehow the hitboxes got WORSE with the update...
They didnt get worse the dedicated servers are introducing more desync between clients. Killers can look like they wont get the hit and they will swing and miss then 1 sec later server says they hit you. 120 ping dedicated server might as well be playing 300 ping in p2p. 60 Ping bordering in the range of 200 ping desync between clients. The biggest problem I personally see is the server needs to have client side confirmations on both killer and survivor of hits and non hits. Right now if killer client says it hits then you can be anywhere on the map and server doesn't have a double check. This will lead to you pallet stunning killer then getting hit at a longer distance than in p2p client based servers. I wish they wouldnt force dedicated servers on people. Allow players to choose p2p as an option... until dedicated servers are ready .
