Well I mean...many other people in the community don't have the problem that the game is crashing. So it is just normal to assume that it has do you with your PC or your internet connection and not with the game itself.

Not a very helpful response, I agree on that, but the game runs smoothly for the majority of players.

The only thing I can recommend at this point is playing on lower resolutions. Since the new graphic updates have been released, playing on Ultra or high has become very laggy, at least for me.

In this same vain, I play on console where my account is the primary main account. My husband has a secondary account linked. My game works fine, crashes once in a blue moon, his has gotten 24 hour bans because the game won't stop crashing.

Same internet, playing at same times of day, same console, everything is the same sans the account. Plenty of people do have game crashes where others do not, that doesn't make it a non-issue.

Im trying to get better with my in-chase behavior, im trying not to but every time i smack the killer with a pallet i tend to tbag and point. The urge is hard to resist but i am trying.

Whenever I play killer, it seems like the people who do that typically go down pretty fast for no real reason.

I tend to save the tbagging for when I'm purposely taunting them enough to keep their eyes on me so people can be saved in basement or we can get the last gen done.

  • With survivor: Looping efficiently. I can run a killer, but I can't typically keep them at a loop for any extended amount of time.

With killer: Huntress on console. Need I say more?

  • FOR THE LOW COST OF $9000 I CAN TOO PREDICT YOUR FUTURE.

To be honest, as soon as you tried to defend infinites you lost all acclaim as well as repute in your post. Infinites aren't and will never be the same as face-camping, Orion gave plenty of fantastic points and you completely ignored them all.

Actually, I wasn't defending them at all, I was saying that the balance is un-fair. I support a penalty for camping, and, as long as there is one, I support infinite bans. And by "points" you claim I ignored... are you referencing the "devs are god and no one should question them" points? Because those were ######### points.

Now you're just asking for free unhooks or getaways.

    Again:

There WAS a stronger punishment in matches for camping, and Survivors abused it for an unfair edge. Devs realized that any proximity-based bonus, or punishment, would be likewise abused in the same way; by keeping the Killer as close to the hook as possible to force the punishment, or forcing a free unhook.

I've said it at least into the double digits by now: Any in-game punishment, or reward, WILL be abused to high hell. Survivors already proved that.

And now killers are abusing people and forcing them to de-pip, but that's okay, because it benefits you, lmfao. There is a way to do it, the devs could easily stop being lazy.

Billy is literally a full on knock off Bubba, BHVR dont care about similar themes, have you counted the amount of white masks in the game?

    Fair point,

  • Only really that one dev's tweet is strong enough for me, if i'm being completely honest. Other than that, I havent seen strong hints to point to anything. I wouldn't be upset by candyman, I would just be like "you said iconic and this is not iconic", lol.

  • @Keezo said:

Way i see it, only options given BHVR's hints are Jason & Pennywise.

If Candyman is an all time classic defining slasher to BHVR, they aren't gonna release him before the reboot. Xenomorph has Hunting Grounds now since Alien & Predator are real buddy, buddy. If its going to any game, its the Predator one.

Even though he could be possible, Jason's license is super #########, but there's still a slim chance BHVR might've gotten it, but very unlikely.

So to me its most probable that it'll be an IT chapter since there's nothing really stopping BHVR from getting the license.

I heard Jason is hard to get, and unlikely they will. Pennywise I would definitely be down for, although I don't know if they'd go for two clowns,

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Its so obviously candyman its stupid this question keeps coming up. If it isnt Candyman hes coming this year

If it is, they've got a weird definition of "iconic", lol.

  • @SurviveByDaylight said:

Well I saw a tweet that said “it will bee sweet”

that implies it could be candyman. Since candy is sweet and he’s full of bees.

A lot of people closer to it all flat out stated that it's not candyman, plus, I would hardly call him iconic in horror.

Well...the Four on the teaser does remind me of him.

Otherwise...I could only list the usuals / Jason, Pinhead, Candyman, It, Creeper, Chucky, Xenomorpth, Predator, Ryuk. But this have been discussed to death for various reasons.

Pyramid wouldnt be a bad pick.

Apparently Scott Jund was streaming and my husband said something like "I hope it's Pyramid head, although I think it would be virtually impossible cause his sword is far too big and heavy, you'd screw up the hit pretty easily." And he replied "I think it'll be fine."

Which he took as confirmation because we're both team "please be something Silent Hill" (our daughter's name is Alessa) so we're just looking for any hint of a "yes", it most likely won't be, but my soul is pining for it. Especially after seeing the four, lmao.

You still have not yet grasped the entirety of my standpoint here. I keep saying “DO WHATEVER YOU WANT” as killer. I have no problem you camping. You have that right. But what I am saying is that you should be penalized more for that. How is that saying it’s an unfair loss or trying to get any of you to pity me lol I’m not...

I've gotten a whole 3 or 4k and made barely any more than people are making for face camping. This is an issue.

    Well, fair enough.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271576#Comment_1271576

I'd be okay with a safety pip (or more points for lasting longer) only if they struggle & last the full 2 minutes, or close too.

I don't want Survivors suiciding on the first hook & being rewarded with a safety pip. That would just encourage more hook-suicides, which makes the game harder for the remaining 3 Survivors.

I can agree with this. If suiciding, they shouldn't get a safety pip, but if they don't wanna have a penalty for face camping, they absolutely need to compensate with a safety pip.

If it weren't intended, it would've been removed, just like infinite loops.

Way too many people in this thread think their opinions on what's "valid gameplay" or "how the game is meant to be played" matter more than those of the guys who literally make the game and decide which mechanics to include.

People criticize writers for ######### things in books and ######### things in movies, this is no difference. Your entire "devs are god" complex needs to be worked out, because gaming is a competitive community, and one where games die pretty drastically when they're poorly balanced-- of which, the players are commenting about.

They want to make money, that's their goal. They'll absolutely be losing it if it keeps going by nerfing things for survivors over and over. Matchmaking is already horrid. You can get into a game semi-easily depending on who you're playing and when, but most of the time it's lots of waiting-- and being matched up horribly. Do you know how many people are rank 20 killers going against rank 6-10 survivors?

Do you know why this is so horrible? Because it's already not a popular game in comparison to a bunch of others, and it's not going to get any better if they keep tanking one side and buffing another. Let go of your "MOM SAID" complex because while it's correct that devs have final say, they're gonna wanna listen to people *actually playing the game* if they want anything to amount from it. I can own a restaurant, but if I keep kicking people out of it or making it a place people don't want to be, i'm going to fail. That's that.

well don’t just stand there 😂 look all I’m saying is, within a certain proximity of a hooked survivor harsher penalties should be inflicted upon the killer post match. Not only emblems but bloodpoints. If you just stand there and do nothing even though you blatantly see another survivor, well then chase them! Is it that serious you feel the need to ensure the hooked guy stays there? You have another target right in front of you 🤣 look I don’t care. All I’m saying is harsher penalties please :) I’m not getting any points sitting here on a hook with you nearby and my experience is getting affected so therefore yours should too. It’s only fair.

This. I'm not even against camping in a sense that you're in the same area. Even if I can still see you, fine, but when you are trying to morph your body into the hooked survivor you're still close, there needs to be a much harsher penalty. These people shouldn't be in red/purple ranks, *at the very least.*

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271506#Comment_1271506

The person being camped isn't supposed to have any options. They're on the hook, they're at the mercy of the killer and other survivors. It'd be like that even if they weren't being camped.

oof, except, not other survivors either, because the unskilled killer who is somehow magically still in red/purple ranks despite not making the game fun for anyone is making sure of that.

Either put infinite loops on everything, or penalize face camping far more harsh. I shouldn't be in red ranks getting matched with people who belong to rank 20.

Lol. Those are not the same thing unless you're looking for a bad excuse to complain.

Hook camping confirms Kills; the Killer's objective.

Loops are meant to be a SLOWDOWN to confirm the Survivor's objective; generators. They were never meant to be infinite or abused.

You're basically saying 'We lost something we should not have had, so Killers need to have a harder time winning. It'S oNlY bAlAnCe!''

Again; people demanding hook punishments are like me saying 'There need to be a punishment if Survivors genrush. I can't find people fast enough, so Survivors need to lose points if they work on a second gen too fast!'

Stop. Feeding. Campers. It's not the Killer's fault you run in for a safe unhook, and the Killer should not be punished because you're too lazy to out-think a guy standing still BY DOING GENERATORS.

2 pop while he's camping, and I'll bet he moves.

..Or keep whining because you're too lazy to think and expect the devs to just cater to you.

They aren't comparable, because a hooked survivor has no options, but a killer chasing a looper has several, lmfao.

What's next? Demand every survivor begin without legs? Make it real easy on you?

  • @IWasThereOnce said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271498#Comment_1271498

You're right, they're not the same. A person being camped has literally no options, while the killer being looped can either go find a different killer and leave them alone, or stay there until they move, or get killed by the entity for not finding hatch or a door and looping past time time.

    Absolutely not comparable.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271489#Comment_1271489

    Can anyone say "non-sequitur"?

Infinite loops and camping are not comparable, at all. The former made it impossible for the killer to catch someone if the survivor just followed certain routes. The latter gives three survivors a free escape, should they take it.

You're right, they're not the same. A person being camped has literally no options, while the killer being looped can either go find a different killer and leave them alone, or stay there until they move, or get killed by the entity for not finding hatch or a door and looping past time time.

So that's the Entitled Survivor Mindset.

'You played in a way I don't like & should lose BP.'

Wow, just wow. I know Survivors invented a flat-out stupid rulebook for Killers, but now you want Killer's to lose BP for not following it? Talk about entitled.

How about I say I want Survivors to lose BP if they work on Gens too fast? Is that fair?

I mean, survivors already get blocked for looping and yet killers don't get anything for hook fetishes, so I mean, the game already isn't fair.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271467#Comment_1271467

Except you don't decide that, the developers do. They make the rules. That's why the Entity blocker was added, because abusing windows is not a valid play style.

Except the fact that people playing the game and continue to play the game are allowed to give constructive criticism, which is what I'm doing. I don't want to hear a single tear from bullshit killers who cry about looping and agree that face-camping is "legitimate".

They can make the games all they want, but if it fails, it fails, and it was time and money and energy wasted. Especially, especially when their players pointed out the hypocrisy time and time again.

They wanna make a fair game? You can't have an entity blocker while validating face-to-face camping.

  • @SunderMun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271441#Comment_1271441

Also making it so that the facecamped person actually ######### gains something for this happening would be nice.

Even a "face camped" achievement similar to the extra disconnection points that killers get.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271441#Comment_1271441

In that case it's a hard "no". Camping is a valid strategy, according to the developers, and it has clear and effective counters. It's not the killers' fault survivors refuse to use those counters.

Okay, then they need to disable the penalty for survivors vaulting the same window over and over again. :) It's a valid play style. They could always just go to someone else and get all of them down, so there doesn't need to be a penalty for abusing a loop.

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1271441#Comment_1271441

Devs have said it's a valid strat. Survivors need to accept that sometimes they are the first hooked, and it's not on the Killer to let them be unhooked.

The game is not 'Slightly Wounded By Daylight'. It's also not 'Let The Survivors Go By Daylight'. But there's always Survivors who scream that playstyles they don't like must be nerfed/removed/punished to make their games easier.

Is it a valid play style? Because, I mean, I don't face camp and still average 3 or so kills per game, as do any other actually skilled players. The fun of the game is to be chased by killers as a survivor, and the fun of a killer is to chase the survivors. You're literally taking away all that when you're straight up hard face camping-- and not even gaining much yourself.

If we can block survivors from "abusing looping", we can block killers from face-camping.

How does "abusing a window" get a penalty but not walking away from a survivor for a single second not?

  • @Orion said:

There is. They lose points in the Chaser emblem (assuming other survivors aren't nearby) and will depip if the other survivors play smart by rushing gens.

    Spoiler: They rarely do.

Sorry, you're totally right, lemme rephrase.

There needs to be a better system that discourages it entirely so people actually stop playing like this. Losing two pips every single game you camp would be ideal,

  • I had something similar happen a few days ago. I got stuck in the middle of the unbroken palette after a stun, I was completely unable to move the rest of the game.

  • You can purchase cosmetics for a character before buying said character, but you won't be able to use them until after you have bought the character. So no, it doesn’t unlock it.
