  • But here's the issue: Good killers don't need bloodlust to catch survivors.

If said survivors don't have those perks mentioned, killers can get away with a tunneling and camping play style, developing bad habits for the killer player.

  • S: Nurse, Spirit, Freddy

    A: Billy, Myers, PH, Oni

B: Hag, Bubba, Legion, Ghostface, Deathslinger

    C: Trapper, Wraith, Pig, Demogorgon

    D: Huntress

    F: Clown

This is from my personal experience

  • As a player who plays killer and survivor equally, I understand both sides of the argument.

Survivor: Yes, tunnelling and camping killers suck. But I for one hardly encounter them. In all honesty, using DS on a killer is just going to make them tunnel you harder.

Killer: Please, only tunnel or camp if you have to. Enduring toxic survivors in the post-game chat is better than getting zero kills to a genrush SWF. It also sucks when you get hit with a random DS from literally 50 seconds ago.

There's literally no winning this argument.

Last Chance isn't abusable. It prevents being instantly downed after getting off the hook from a face camper once and forces the killer to hook you a fourth time as punishment for camping you.

For DS, a 10 second stun is just factually better than 3-5 seconds. If you gotta chase after me after being unhooked and not allow me even a chance, you f-ing deserve it.

All together gets into the killer's head that they are not going to take the easy way out because they want to be lazy.

Wow. I have never seen a more entitled survivor main in my life. You know what else prevents you from being downed immediately off hook? Borrowed Time.

As for DS, are you telling me that the killer is supposed to just let you go? A ten second stun is just going to make them more focused on you than before.

Honestly, if I saw a perk like All Together go off, I would just DC. Please play some killer games, because you obviously have never played killer, and then get back to me.

Slugging is a group thing and Unbreakable only helps yourself to which you can just be quickly downed again. Most times, it's useless and you will rarely get to use it, even if with a slugging killer as most times, survivors are all together. Unbreakable isn't really such a big anti to slugging. But my perk helps everybody and prevents the situation of there only being 1 survivor not downed.

No Mither is just as useless as Unbreakable, only slightly less. Same purpose, just eternally.

Soul Guard lets you take one more hit after recovering from the dying state but that happening is rare. Not a good counter.

Flip Flop and Buckle Up aren't amazing in any way and aren't game changers.

    Kindred doesn't prevent slugging.

I'm sorry but I am serious. Tunnellers deserve to be stunned that long (10 seconds).

Helping another survivor that probably didn't even earn it is OP. Also, Kindred is an anti-camping perk, as all other survivors will see their aura if they're in close proximity of the survivor. Tunnelers don't deserve a ten second stun. If I had to face that every game (Ghostface main BTW), I would honestly quit the game. Each perk needs to have counterplay. For that DS buff to work, the window of time on which you could use it would have to be nerfed.

Still to this day, there's no survivor perks that try and counter slugging and face camping. So I've created my own.

    PERK: LAST CHANCE

Description: If a killer after hooking you stays within 5 metres of you for 10/8/6 seconds, this perk activates.

You can unhook yourself or be unhooked and are fully healed with a sprint burst to boot. Your second hook will instead count as your first hook. So it takes 4 hooks to sacrifice you.

    -----------

    PERK: ALL TOGETHER (Anti-Slug)

When you and two other survivors are downed, this perk activates.

You can instantly heal yourself to the injured the state and this action applies to the other survivors (so when you heal yourself, they too are healed).

    -----------

Now, Decisive Strike is the anti-tunnelling perk but it needs a huge buff, because stunning the killer for 3 seconds doesn't matter when you'll still quickly be downed afterwards. It's buff should be that after using perk, the killer is stunned for 6/8/10 seconds and is blinded for the duration. The timer to use it should pause when in a chase and when downed so a killer can't just wait for it to end.

That DS buff is absurd. A 10 second stun/blind is way too much. If you've played killer, then you would know that sometimes you have to tunnel, camp, or slug. When multiple gens are done, for instance, I consider tunneling someone just because I have to get them out of the game. Punishing them further would worsen the gen rush issue, and would eventually cause people to stop playing killer, causing the death of DBD.

  • My favorite complaint I've received as a Killer:

I was playing my first game of Pyramid Head, and got The Game. Time went by, and I eventually found two survivors in the bathroom: a Lucy and a Meg. I chased the Lucy, and eventually sent her to a cage. She was quickly saved, and I was nearby patrolling gens. I checked it out, and the Lucy ran right into me. I downed her after she used her Dead Hard, and hooked her. The Meg saved her, and I chased her around. By the time I downed and hooked her, two gens were done. Meg got saved, and was healed so Deathbound went off. I made my way over, and downed the Meg and hooked her again after running into her. I found Lucy shortly after, hit her and a third gen popped. She saved the Meg, and I downed Lucy. I chased Meg and got her too. I hooked Meg, and by then Lucy was up. I went back downstairs where I ran right into Lucy. She didn't last long. At that point, I had the setup for a decent three-gen and started to patrol them. A few minutes pass, and I finally run into a Claudette working on a gen. I hook her, and start running around the bottom floor looking for the hatch. Claudette dies on the hook, and the last survivor, who I didn't even see the whole game, escapes through the hatch.

After the game, I received a message from the Lucy complaining that I tunneled her the whole game. I explained pretty much exactly what I said here. She literally ran into me every time, and she still complained. When it comes to this game, each side has a complete lack of empathy for the other. Survivors don't understand how demoralizing fighting a full SWF can be, and Killers don't understand that solo queueing sucks.

    Are you serious?

You had a totally good match. Survivors didn't bring any second chance perks or "toxic" items. So again, a great match FOR YOU. YOU got YOUR cosmetic without having to do ANYTHING AT ALL. And you have the AUDACITY to call the SURVIVOR entitled???

No, sir. You are being handed something FOR FREE that they DID work for. Maybe try BEING KIND during a ######### holiday event, you total Scrooge. If 2 in and 2 out is balance...and you had a GREAT MATCH anyway...perhaps you could have just, idk, been a bro and let two of the sparkly people go, since it was just a "fun" and "casual" game.

I played 5 hours of no-kill killer today because of people like you.

And which page of the Survivors Rulebook For Killers can I find the rule that states I have to let survivors go during events? Because the DBD rulebook says:

    Killers are supposed to kill.

Survivors are supposed to try to survive.

The cosmetic isn't even that good anyway.

  • It's come to my attention from playing the game for years that some Killers benefit greatly from perks like NOED. Killers like Trapper, Wraith, Pig, and some others have poor map control and gen pressure and can easily get gen rushed. A perk like NOED can allow these Killers to get kills in situations like this.

But on the other hand, as a survivor, NOED can be very unfun to fight. When I play, I usually always see NOED on Myers or Ghostface, whom I never expect it on. NOED might be unfun, but it does have counterplay to it. Similarly, a perk that I've seen some Killers complain about, DS, also has counterplay. We really shouldn't focus on changing a perk that doesn't really need changing, when there are some truly awful perks in the game that need changing.

I went from 15 back down to noob 20 for survivor. I can never seem to get out of yellow rank. No matter how much stuff I do in a match, I either get no pip, lose a pip, or extremely rarely gain a pip. I should have been a red a long time ago. I play like a red now, but the system still thinks I didn't do enough to rank up. Ive been playing this game since The Oni was released. What else do I need to do? Give a little dance for the killer? Learn to fly? Cook a yummy dinner for the killer?

TydeTyme released a great video explaining how emblems work a long time ago. I recommend you check it out

  • I think Trapper, Wraith, Demogorgon, Legion, Bubba, and Pig desperately need buffs. Trapper should just start with more traps. Wraith needs some kind of buff to his invisibility. Demogorgon either needs more portals or a shorter cool down between teleportations. Legion needs his recent nerf where his FF is no longer counted as a normal hit removed. Bubba really needs a whole rework. And Pig is probably going to get a rework.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

They really need to give Bubba some love. He's been the weakest killer for like two years now.

Yes, Bubba has literally only been viable with one build. I am, of course, talking about the Bubba's Basement build. Killers shouldn't have to rely on one perk build to be effective.

  • Favorite killer (atm): Trapper because of how forgiving he can be with getting kills.

    Build:

    Ruin (early game pressure)

    Whispers (tracking survivors)

Surge (pressure combined with Ruin and even after it's gone)

Brutal Strength (because pallets suck, and for just a little extra pressure)

I use this build because Trapper simply lacks gen pressure. These perks fix the issue. I plan to swap to Demogorgon soon and I'm sure I'll find a build that works.

  • @NekoGamerX not to my knowledge. However, L4D did also have an Xbox 360 release, so it may have been easier for MS to get the content from Valve.
