Very true she is so broken, super unfun to vs, also they like to tunnel for some reason because your infection doesn't go away when being hooked...

Not to mention the three slowdowns and dissolution, so any chance you had at any counterplay whatsoever is gone. It is honestly so miserable to play against her.

She has all of these things going for her:

    1. Mobility
    2. Third-person Camera View
    3. Disorienting Terror Radius (due to the bells) - this is an accessibility issue that was overlooked entirely.
    4. The Lack of punishment if she misses.
    5. Her misaligned hitbox allows her to hit you over a downed pallet.
    6. Her lunge is massive, to the point where it ignores dead hard (This is probably a bug, as I've seen people dead hard go white from endurance and immediately hit the floor).
    7. The lack of cooldown from transforming to being able to land a hit.
    8. The lack of cooldown from a basic whip attack to another attack.
    9. The fact that she can vault without punishment is due to her mobility, which counters the slowing effect of vaulting.
    10. Lack of cooldown from spitting and missing.
    11. Lack of cooldown from spitting to transforming.
    12. Landing a spit is a guaranteed 100% infection, with the bonus of infecting multiple people at 100% in a single shot.
    13. Survivors on hooks are infected upon being unhooked, if they were infected prior, making them very easy to tunnel.
    14. Low mushroom spawns - sometimes, to remove infected, you have to cross the entire map.
    15. Holding a mushroom gives you no advantage whatsoever, because if you get infected, you can't eat it before you go down or get hit again. After all, the effect takes far too long to take effect.
    16. She can hit over low tiles with her whip, even if you are crouched behind them.
    17. No collision, so she doesn't get punished for missing a whip attack.

And if anyone says "Learn the counterplay…" would you care to explain the counterplay?

  • I think the biggest drawback to pausing things like sloppy and mangled is the stackable heal slowdown, as we have seen already, such as the healing and medkit nerf, PTB, in which heal slowdown builds were being tried out by killers. While something like this may not seem extreme, these small things do add up.

For example: as pointed above, it is easier to tunnel a survivor who has just come off hook and is unable to heal - also, survivors who are going to use time healing, simply will wait it out. You'll see more resilience users, and survivors will just get on generators rather than healing, with that 9% speed increase. Good survivors don't care if they are injured or not for set periods of time, so your gens will go faster.

So, while it doesn't seem like a big change, it will have consequences on both sides, and not necessarily good ones either.

Oh no I don't think UW is healthy by any means even on its own. It's Doctor's static blast (one of the best tracking abilities) as an entire perk with zero downsides and for that reason I honestly feel like it should be a Hex perk instead.

I do think GE and DMS are fine on their own, however.

Yeah I agree with that fr. Stacking needs to be addressed in asap though.

I don't think DMS is problematic on its own but the issue with it lies upon how ridiculous it is when stacked with Grim Embrace and Ultimate Weapon. Same goes with GE, another perk that is fine if not combined with DMS.

As others have said, make it so that it doesn't activate when a survivor is forced off a generator.

However I do think Pain Resonance + DMS is fine because of the counterplay it has.

I agree with you. Also, in the current state, GE doesn't punish proxi-camping. Let's say Nurse wants to camp a player out. Put grim embrace on, hook someone, blink away, blink back (just for an example, other killers can do this too). That's 12 seconds where survivors can't work on gens and are unable to get a clean unhook in most cases. Since GE doesn't deactivate once the killer re-enters the hook area.

The whole point of the anti-camp measure was to provide survivors with an alternative solution to the problem - this ignores that.

(I disagree about UW being not problematic on its own. Remove the blindness effect, and I think it's less frustrating to deal with) .

Making it so it doesn't activate when a surv is forced off the gen seems alright for now as a solution - I guess we'd see if that'd make things better.

What do people think about adding the stipulation to grim embrace of it deactivating once a survivor dies?

  • I agree with most of the things you have said, however, I also believe the COH nerf was overkill, especially if combined with the healing changes. Personally I would much rather CoH need charging or have a cooldown in between healing. If these changes go ahead for it, it will just become a glorified botany - which for Solo Queue survivors is rough. Another potential solution is in order to boon a totem you would need to break a totem. This would therefore limit the amount of times a CoH could be placed while not removing its ability completely.

A lot of these changes do not seem to consider the struggles of Solo Queue Survivors - if the intention was to nerf SWFs the mark was missed.

It does indeed feel like a lot of these changes are the nuclear option. We can hope that the Dev's take in to consideration the huge amount of backlash these notes have already produced (in particular regarding the Hillbilly Nerf).

Regarding the Oni Buff - I agree these addons aren't really used and therefore the Buff will only really affect players who aren't new to killer, but are pretty new to Oni and don't have access to many addons. With this in mind, I wish they'd switch the buff to the two Passive Power Gain addons to aid players who are new to Oni, while balancing them, making more experienced Oni players not super reliant on them.

Either way, I am hopeful that the Devs address a lot of the issues which have already been raised regarding this PTB update, before it hits the PTB.

I have to ask, and I'm being genuine- how on earth does removing Lightburn help Wraith in camping scenarios?

Ah, sorry I should have explained. If a Wraith is camping a hook in cloak you can Lightburn them to stun them, and get the unhook. I hope that clarifies. It doesn't help if they are uncloaked. A lot of my own experiences of Wraiths who have camped have been in cloak.

This is particularly effective in a Basement scenario.
