Yeah I agree, the majority just rushes openly for a save, often when I catch them and come back to interrupt the save they just blame me then for camping which is true but instead of blaming and crying maybe try to not run openly for a save? xD

Exactly like stop saying they camped because you ran in before the hook animation even finished like let the survivor sit on hook for a minute! Ironically ditting on a hook won't kill them but insta running in could! And wastes game time to do a gen depending on its progress level. I think some do it because they don't want survivors killing themselves but that's another lost skill like just wait on the hook for a bit bro

This is just another case of a self-fulfilling prophecy. They don't want to face Legion because, "Legion OP. We'll never win, so let's not even try." and so they DC, leaving the rest of the survivors to a losing game. THAT is why they're losing, not necessarily because the killer is too strong. It's disappointing that so many people still blame the killer instead of bad teammates.

Or they do try but don't think things through at all like the amount of matches against Legion I've had where they CLEARLY have discordant but then survivors try to sit on gens together? Or they try to speed unhook because "Legion will be in their ability" ok but that still a problem! Like good kegions are hard enough without survivors making themselves fodder may as well put themselves on the hook smh

What's your guy's take on them? For people who don't know, a pity win is when a killer/survivor realizes the other side isn't doing to hot and decides to give them a pity escape/kill.

The reason I ask is cuz that just happened to me while in solo-queue, my teammates were dropping like flies to the Legion and I was trying to save them and help with gens. Unfortunately, I'm not great with looping so I ended up going down and dropped down into the basement of Sanctum of Wrath. Well turns out Yui was chilling down there injured and the Legion chased Feng down there and they both went down too. Legion took pity on us cuz she let me wiggle off and pick the other two off. I ended up letting myself die in the end cuz it didn't feel right taking a free win that was handed to me, and I assume the Yui felt the same way.

I've seen a few people say its patronising but I've never thought of it that way I always see it as a gamer being like "hey you've had a shut time I've seen that so here" and I've always thought it's nice when so much of the community can be toxic like "IF YOU DONT ALL GET OUT OR GET ALL KILLS YOUR NOOB GIT GUD" weird mentality.

As a survivor what I like to do is give a kill without being like.. obvious about it because I know the whole pointing qt hook etc can be seen as trolling so I'll make like a really obvious mistake or I'll save someone on endgame hook but I do it KNOWING I'm gonna get caught still because that way killer still gets that rush and gets to see how to handle that (in the event of new killers who maybe don't know). Only time I've outright given a kill is because killers been stuck in the map and literally can't do anything because yeah I do feel bad for them like its not their fault a hill tried to eat them XD

Speaking about a longer time period. Its save to say that survivors and killers have gotten sweatier and better in general if you compare them to players 2 years ago.

However while this happens, other "skills" are getting lost over time aswell.

In my tournaments and also everytime when I watched other videos, streamers or screen shares of friends I realized how the majority kinda lost the sense of breaking pallets properly. Nowadays the majority just instant breaks every pallet at any moment on any killer at any position of the map. Regardless if its a unsave pallet or a loop at the corner or edge of the map, they dont even zone they just insta break it.

It seems that all the "newer" gen players just simply dont pay attention to it, or never learned this. On older gen players like Otz, Tru3 or my best friend for example or myself included we pay attention and force the survivor to run to the edge or corner side of the loop and then break, maybe even leave the pallet droppen on purpose since they are unsave asf.

Especially Killers like Nemesis, ppl are literally horny on breaking every single dropped pallet with the tentacle, its almost some kind of addiction at this point 😂

That is just 1 example of an older "skill" that has been lost, most ppl just break every pallet without planning and even waste like this a potential down or free hit.

Is there any trick or skill or gameplay advantage that you realized that has been lost by time?

For survivor I would definitely say like hiding mechanics have pretty much stopped like don't get me wrong I'm not saying crouch walk everywhere ALL THE TIME and try to avoid the killer but I see it a lot where survivors jump straight onto looping when they could have potentially crouched somewhere q couple seconds not get seen and hop back onto gen or head towards an unhook (because thats another thing I noticed with unhooking again people keep trying to unhook before killers even fully out of sight like your encouraging camping/ tunnelling or you waste time by starting a chase NEAR A HOOKED SURVIVOR like just breathe a sec and wait XD ). Killer wise it sounds weird but just standard hitting survivors? Good old M1 hits I took a huge break from DBD so ofc I get back and I KNOW there's been definite times I SHOULD HAVE GONE DIWN not because of game lag or whatever like me just being pure moron. BUT. Killers didn't act on that because they was trying to use abilities like huntress coulda just bonked me on head with an M1 but didn't to try and hatchet throw and missed or legion went into frenzy or nurse went to teleport and swung from that like? I mean it was awesome chases because I didn't expect to live but it felt like killers were making it harder for themselves than they needed to

This time, it just cost me 3 nights of the game to recognize this. It reminds me why I give up this game once. This game is totally a surv single side game, while killers are just clowns or objects of amusement. I continue playing killers bc I don' want to admit I got beaten. I want to write about why playing killers is annoying.

ALL the strategy is based on information, and SWF can save all the AURA perks for other perks, while killers are forced to take BBQ, regardless of whether it's useful or not. They also have so many build styles, firstly, they can gen rush, or they can speed up heal extremity to heal up in 3s. They can take 4 flashlights to bully... Just the fact that they can save AURA perks is completely unfair.

This game always requests killers do better:

1.You can't get treated in a chase even once.

    2.You can't focus on one.

3.You have to go to another side of the map after hooking, no matter how fast you are, can you teleport or not.

4.You have to spend hundreds of hours to learn new killer bc they nurf the old one to trash. After you master an op killer, they will nurf the addon to trash to make your efforts nothing. I can't endure this, bc more and more killers are hard, and they need a large amount of time to master.

But turn to surv side, damn they get many graces.

    1. You have two extra chances for making mistake.

    2. You have free BT for their reckless rescue operation.

    3. The powerful perks. You have potential perks that threaten killers. Like BT, DH, and DS(I mean, as long as those perks are in surv perk options, they can change killers' play style). Killer players always that: 8 hooks but 0 kills. Besides, survs have simple but powerful perks to speed up run, fix and heal, which killers' perks are all with preconditions.

    4. You have killers‘ carrying part to take advantage unilaterally, no matter use perks, flashlight or just block hook position(I always believe killers have to stand on a certain point to hook is a stupid thing).

    5. Killers spend seconds to destroy gens, but surv can fix it only by a touch.

6.Killers spend hundreds of hours learning new power, while surv never have to change their strategy: fix the gen, run around a plate, drop plates and jump through windows, no matter who's killer. This makes the fact that, 90% of the killers are totally garbage, and the only option is playing nurse. I don't think running around a plate is the original design of the game...

    7. All the killers have a fixed add-on combo. When we talk about killers' strength, we are talking about their strength with the addon. While survs are already strong with perks combo, they still can take items to gain an extra edge.

I won't play killer again until they:

    1. delete all the blind and stun perks and items,

    2. limit SWF's total perks to 4 from 16, can't take the same items.

Thats completely unrealistic. Survivors can't fight so the only option is perk/ stuns etc so if you remove them it's gonna just be no chance that's like saying remove all killer perks. Plus why does everyone announce its Survivor sided like its some conspiracy? Its a 4v1 asymmetrical it's not SUPPOSED to be equal it's literally in the game description. If you find nurse the only viable option then either your an OG nurse main (in which case I salute you as that ######### is hard) OR you think the only way to win is to teleport which isn't the case I've seen tons of killers slap Survivors! Also there are other aura killer perks so I'm not sure why you say killers only have like 1. There's quite a few plus the scratches, birds locker noises gen noises etc.

Plus with the meta change half if the genuine issues like the harsh killer misshit CD time and stuff is being reduced qnd perks being changed. But if you don't like killer don't play it like why waste YOUR life playing something you don't like because "I won't be beaten" life is too short for that

  • @TheycallmeLix said:

The meta change is really unnecessary, why did they do it like 6 years later and not something in the beginning of the years of DBD? Many of my friends are gonna uninstall/stop playing after the update, and it really makes me feel sad about them leaving the game when we used to play a lot! They completely nerfed all perks to garbage and they want us to get used to new perks.. like after using the same perks for 1-2 years, they are forcing us to new perks which we all don’t like. Many camping and tunneling after the update which is gonna be really annoying.

What are your thoughts about it?

It is necessary though because so many of the community has already left or wanted to leave because it got stale. Its not like they've kept all perks same and removed "good ones" they have made changes to actually try to benefit the game like most games do! So if your friends only wanted to stick yo one build set and never deviate then they miss out on a good game I guess. They either rely too much (less face it the meta was second chances essentially) or was comfortable and I get that but wheres the harm in trying new perks?
