Reworking Cut Loose

Cut Loose

You get in enough trouble, you know how to get out of it.

Whenever you are chased for a total of 60/70/80 seconds, Cut Loose activates, and you benefit from the following effects:

  • Your vaults are 100% silent.
  • Stunning the killer increases their stun duration by 75%.
  • Have your grunts of pain, pools of blood, scratch marks, and the sounds of your footsteps suppressed for 10 seconds after stunning the killer with a pallet.

These effects linger for 8 seconds after escaping a chase and will activate again upon re-entering the chase.

Escaping the chase and not re-entering it past the duration will grant you a 25% haste and you see the killer's aura for 5 seconds. Afterwards, the perk deactivates.

"I know how we can get out of here! Quick, this way!" — Thalita Lyra

This rework will reward survivors who are good in chase, I've wanted a perk like this for a long time, and I feel like Cut Loose can be very good if it had a type of change like this. Its current effects are very mediocre, and quite rare to get value from, this change will make the perk still a bit situational, but still useful if the killer is continuously chasing you, and like I stated earlier it will reward good players.

I request feedback, it's very appreciated, please post any changes that you feel that is needed for the rework!

  • I don't think it needs a rework. Just make the cooldown 20 seconds. Maybe add lockers to the things it suppresses so you can use it with Head On.

I really like Cut Loose as-is, it's super fun, it's just the cooldown is overly restrictive.

I would agree, but it's really situational because of it having a 6 second window of being able to use it. Then it goes into cooldown, even with the shorter cooldown I feel like trying to make it work all the time can backfire, especially if the killer knows what your doing. I can agree that it's fun to use if you manage to make it work, but it requires a plan and sometimes it might not even work in your favor at all.

I mean, if the killer catches on to you vaulting back with Cut Loose, then it allows you to fake vaulting the window again and just running away instead. It opens up a bunch of dynamic gameplay potential and mindgames.

Maybe they could increase the Perk Window to 8 seconds too, a lot of values they could play around with.

it would likely be better if it was like 30 seconds duration with 20 second cooldown. it doesn't need rework. i think whole idea is that you use cut loose to juke killer, do the chase, when you survive long enough, Quick&Quiet comes off cooldown and you can use it with head on. it could be like really strong with Lucky star if Lucky star was much stronger.

Cut loose+Quick&Quiet+Head on+Lucky star is already build. the build just sucks because… Cut loose is bad and Lucky star is bad. Lucky star needs like 60 seconds of iron will and Cut loose needs a lot better numbers. bvhr does seem to buff survivor perks pretty well so i am sure they'll get to buffing these survivor perks at some point.

  • Your idea is an interesting perk, but I'd want that as its own thing and not as a rework to Cut Loose. Cut Loose is already a unique perk and I wouldn't want to see it replaced.

Cut Loose just needs a shorter cooldown and the duration increased to 8 seconds to make it a lot easier to use. 6 seconds is a little too short a lot of the time and the 45 second cooldown is overkill, it should only be around 20 seconds.

  • Interesting rework.

    My idea was this:

    • Increase the duration to 10 seconds.

    • Add a 5% vault speed bonus to it.

    • Reduce the cooldown.
