I would recommend that you check the game files for errors. To do this, go to DBD (right click) Properties, Installed Files and then Check Files for Errors in Steam. If a browser window pops up, just close it and wait for the process to complete. Then restart the game and see if it runs better

i've tried verifying the game files

    Reinstalling

    Restarting my pc

    And nothing has helped

EDIT someone told me to uninstall and reinstall steam it didn't help

  • I was having this issue, and after some trial and error, I (think) found that it was linked to an Archives Tome challenge I was attempting to complete. Specifically I had selected Tome 17 Level 1 - Enemies Closer (Remix). The challenge assigned four random perks to my survivor, and I'm guessing that the game/my comp is crashing when trying to assign those perks. Switching off this challenge fixed my issue, and reselecting it brought this crash back. Hopefully this helps!

Okay, if that doesn't help, definitely send the crash report to BHVR and contact tech support with the error code. As a precaution, I would save the msconfig and dxdiag files so that you can hand them over to support if necessary.

That's all you can do i think
