My brain it fizzles

So I just started playing dbd again after a little break you know life and other games one of the first matches I get the killer starts slugging after just 1 gen is complete. I need to know the science I need to dig into this person's brain and know why people slug after a single gen went by and it's not slugging where you keep them on the ground and hit a survivor that's near by to keep them away no this guy it was a singularity downed a guy slugged him so me being me I go to pick up simple enough I get hit by the killer so I go running off and the killer chases the other guy I'm on the other side of the map. He downs the guy and doesn't pick him up instead starts to look for me. I just want to know why slug after 1 gen went by.

Think I've dealt with it before

  • That's kind of what Singularity excells at. Singularity works very well when you can constantly harass survivors without break. But picking up and hooking, gives them that break. There is a popular content creator (I won't name them because I don't want anybody to shame them), that kind of started this and made it popular but not to be a jerk but to play this killer to its full potential.

  • What perks are you currently running out of curiousity?

I think I went up against them one time when Singularity was still being complained about for being too weak apparently and we got steamrolled to say the least. Couldn't really do much considering it's solo queue...

  • Recently I’ve been wondering, ‘If I break from DBD for 3 years n then return, will I still be hard tunneled in my first 5 matches (or even all 5 of them).”

idk, but the current amount of tunneling doesn’t make the future seem any more promising.

I'm still of the opinion that Singularity without certain addons is terrible. The Soma Family Photo feels absolutely required.

Really depends on my feel and if I'm doing a challenge but my go to at the moment is Lithe, Windows, Inner strength and sometimes Calm Spirit but might pop on Ace in the hole just to snag an item.

It tough out there bc like slugging and tunneling are really hard to counter if you’re not with a bunch of other people who know how to counter it, I personally really like deliverance if I’m noticing a lot of tunneling or right back to the hook on unhook. If they’re slugging a lot unbreakable.

  • Due to repeated adjustments in this game, it has become very weak for killers to hook survivors.

Of course it is important to increase hook state, but what a killer wants to do most is to prevent gen pop. Since the survivors outnumber the killer, the killer will need to leave the slugs alone to reduce the survivors' numerical advantage.

  • You can build to slug rather effectively and it can be more advantageous to do than hooking with some set ups.

I don't really play singularity but Bubba can be a slug champ and building around that can get you multiple downs and a lot of stall and pressure.

You don't really need to dig into the brain of another player to find rationale for a lot of playstyles. Not every game is going to be hook everyone equally and on time and never deviate from that structure.

Why slug in that scenario because now killer potentially has pressure on 2 players - 1 on the ground, 1 trying to hide/in chase. Also potentially one less gen in progress because 3rd teammate is coming to pick up the slug. Its a perfectly viable thing to attempt especially if you built for slugging and can get multiple downs.
