Why was Wraith's lunge nerfed a while back?
I came back to the game after a long break and was surprised to learn that Wraith's post-uncloak lunge had been considerably nerfed. He's harder to play now for sure. He wasn't exactly S-tier before, so I'm curious what the reasoning behind this nerf was. As a console player Wraith didn't get 4ks all the time or anything, but was a reliable way to play as killer without getting 360'd once you caught up to a survivor without a pallet or vault nearby. I've learned to counter 360s on controller, but it's still one of my least favorite aspects of the game to encounter and requires camera sensitivity that many players aren't comfortable with. Really the devs ought to just give mkb support to console players, but in the meantime why did one of our most solid ways to avoid sweaty jukers and just play chill get taken away?
TLDR: Wraith was never OP, his lunge was a good accessibility feature for console users. Why was it nerfed?

Because wraith is a noob stomper with many counters. Survivors are bad so they cry OP instead of doing thing thar counter the wraith.
He was too strong. Wraith is very underrated imo and is top 5 or near top strongest killers
He is a little underrated but he can still lose against good teams or bad maps like any other B tier or below killer. The nerf was not needed at all and that version of wraith was so much fun.
Okay? What killer can't lose to good teams? If the survivors are better than you they should win and vice versa. With addons prenerf wraith would make basically any loop a hard 50 50 and he still can do that with those addons to a large amount of tiles, as he is now he's in a very healthy place. Wraith has the tools in his power to win any match you play as him.
When he got his basekit buffs (before the nerf) a while back, I think he was reaching the 70% kill rates across MMRs. (Even now on Nightlight he is in the top half of kill rates, but I don't fully trust sweatlords self-reporting, especially when Oni/Plague/Spirit/Wesker/Blight are all below the midpoint.) While I do think he should have had a little bit more time to settle and people to get used to his new strength, it likely was still a bit overtuned.
Right now he is in a solid place, and unlike many other M1 Killers, he can easily win with green add-ons at the rarest. There was even the Hens showcase Wraith that showed you can even beat a pro-team when intentionally not tunneling with and without restrictions (if they don't know your plan going in). He did lose to the 2nd pro team immediately afterward, but they knew what he was doing going in, which isn't the soloq experience. Some of the perks were brought to specifically counter the strat he was using, which helped lead to his loss.
His chase power is not as strong as the A tier and S tier killers, you really think he is only a little bit behind blight? The idea is as a blight, nurse or spirit you can win against these good teams on bad maps, wraith like other B tiers cannot.
I probably worded it badly, i meant he's bottom of top 5 or near it. He'll never be played in actual comp because the addons he needs to be truly powerful are banned.
