Ideas for Camping, Gen Rushing, and Pallet Looping

Camping:

Have completed generators near hooks give off an entity possessed electrical current. Pulling a survivor off one of these hooks will cause the healthy rescuer to become injured. (Or could just have them scream, making more synergy with calm spirit..) Or, scream and damage the rescuer.

This should aid killers in needing to camp less, and add a lot more strategy for survivors doing generators.

Pallet Looping:

Killers can slash/attack at pallets, causing them to become dangerous. Sliding across a damaged pallet will cause it to break, and the survivor will enter the injured state, and be stunned for a short duration. (survivors cannot be downed in such a method. But it will stop players from reusing the same pallets over and over.)

I realize this idea has been posed in a similar fashion before, and i personally think it has merit.

Generator Rushing:

As survivors work on generators, 2-4 times through the whole process....the gen will shut down and a special prompt will appear. Only one survivor may take the prompt at a time.

The prompt opens a screen showing some of the insides of the generator. Wires or parts need to be clicked on to get them working again. (The most simplest method would be electrical taping loose wires together correctly.) Failing this challenge will force you to do it again, or someone else to do it.

The downside of this is it slows down gen progress till succeeded, and you become hyper focused because you can't see around you. This forces a survivor to watch your back, or you to listen for the advance of the killer.

(on the chance the killer kicks the gen after the special repair, you won't have to do that repair again. If you finish 1/2....you don't have to start over, just get the gen to the next prompt and finish it.)

((The other option would be making the survivors search for a missing part to "finish" repairs.))

Please give any ideas or suggestions you may have. These are just my ideas/opinons currently.

    On gen rushing:

If we go with the locating the missing part, the easiest method of this would be to take up a chest.

Although, one could find them in supply crates around the map.

  • I like them, but pallet looping occurs primarily before the pallet is dropped. Very rarely do Survivors vault over a pallet after looping and dropping it.

    Hmm, good point.

    Pallet Looping rethought 1:

What if the killer could attack raised pallets as well....and when the survivor throws it down(not paying attention), the pallet will break  and stun the survivor.
  • The pallet is not the problem; the loop itself is. The pallet simply allows Survivors to create a safe zone and buys them enough time to go for the next loop. The fix for pallet looping will have to come in the form of hitbox changes.

  • If the game rewarded killers more for hooking multiple people once over the same person 3 times it would fix camping. Right now the game rewards you too much for just that one guy. I'd even say make BBQ bp bonus a permanent thing and then maybe add something minor to BBQ to make up for it. Maybe a faster hooking animation or +0.25 second aura for each new hook (so you can have 1 more second of aura after 4 hooks).

If completing a gen locked other gens from being completed for maybe 30 seconds that would fix gen rush. Right now the problem is that 3 gens can potentially pop right at the same time during a chase. That's GG for a killer. There needs to be a minimum time the game will last no matter what. All gens can be done in 2 minutes at the absolute best which is kinda ridiculous. That figure should be somewhere around 4 or 5 minutes to be fair to killer. Less optimized survivors shouldn't be hurt too much by it since they don't do 2 or 3 gens at a time usually.

There is no problem with camping.

You are not entitled to a free rescue.
