Endgame meta and balance boost.

This idea should help endgame balance all around and improve the play experience for killers and survivors. It's a situation dependent end game buff option.

I think of it as the impaling ritual. On the last generator, based on the current state of play the killer is granted an impaling ritual. The killer can go to one of the hooks, quickly impale themselves and receive a buff. This buff lasts the remainder of the game or until the hook the ritual was performed on is dismantled. After the ritual the hook could glow or be re-textured. This would extend play in unbalanced games and help to push the game to balance. It would also keep the tension up for survivors and give back a hope of winning to killers that are being trounced. It may also likely deepen the metagame and hopefully not nerf any other mechanics.

Being game state dependent the leveling effect would be more powerful the worse you're doing like in mariocart, based on time left and the state of the survivors. If there are only 2 survivors on the final gen the ritual doesn't even appear. 4 survivors you get an insta down ability. 4 survivors who haven't been hooked or even touched you get a speed buff and insta down. Killers can chose the hook they activate the ritual on or if they even do it at all. Winning a dire game without using the ritual is a good thing to reward. Survivors can then chose if they split their attention to finding and dismantling the ritual hook or just deal with the last gen and a buffed killer.

This should deincentivise tunnelling and boring play, push games longer in a more fun and dynamic way and keep tension up. Inexperienced survivors should never see its effects while experience survivor teams outclassing a killer will get a more thrilling and challenging game.

  • You're basically giving killers NOED but on 1 gen remaining (if the killer didnt do great - which is the reason most survs hate NOED already >.>)
