Can the demogorgon "leap" vertically?

I remember there being mentioned in the dev stream that it had an aspect of verticality to it, but does this mean the demogorgon can potentially "lunge" over low loops? or does it just mean it can jump to a position it can see?

    You can only jump forward, not up

    Ahh i see thats where my confusion was coming from, sort of like how a killer with a fast enough lunge/speed can attack to cross small gaps
