Hatch Standoff solution

What if there were 2 Hatches that are available to the survivor if not all of the gems are completed?

Killer is notified of the 2 hatch locations via Aura
Killer is notified of Survivors Aura (This is forces action among the killer/survivor similar to if the exit gates were powered if the hatch was closed)
Survivor has to look for 1 of 2 hatches while they know they are being chased. The odds of finding the hatch are doubled and action can commence.
The hatch standoff is changed due to multiple hatches, but survivors still have an advantage for if they were not in the dying state they could still wait by one of the hatches until hit then be able to escape.

One way to solve this would be to allow the killer to close the hatch that the survivor is standing by and force them to look for the other one while still being in a chase. After a short amount of time (Long enough for the killer to have an opportunity to down the survivor at all if played correctly) the hatch that was closed reopens.
Killers can close both hatches at the same time in case a repeating stalemat occurs with the survivor/killer.

  • So you are basically suggesting a hatch standoff at the first hatch the survivor finds....

  • @Master did you read the last paragraph?

No tbh, but this mechanic is overly complicated and the amount of time wasted.... jesus....
In DBD a normal game takes about 5 minutes, I dont understand why the hatch game even is a thing in such a fast-paced game. It complete contradicts the nature of the game (yes DBD is no hiding game)

  • The original hatch closing idea was the best we have tbf. Don't know why it has to be over complicated.
