Requirements for a New Killer
With talk of a Stranger Things chapter, I've gotten to thinking if a 9ft tall inter-dimensional demon could be a killer, but more importantly, what is the criteria for a killer? Mus they be human? Or Humanoid? Whats the height,/size limit? Can they be normal humans with no supernatural powers? Could they look like a normal human? These questions got me thinking if famous killers like Norman Bates or Jack Torrance could be killers. So what do you think are the requirements for being a killer, and if monsters or normal humans could ever be a killer.

i think the devs said they only wanted humanoid killers.
i dont see monsters being in the game, lorewise its always some person going mad and being consumed by the entity, so things like the alien will probaply never make it into the game.
the devs always try to stay away from supernatural creatures, like zombies for an example, they always try to add a human killer with supernatural strength and speed. while they do have a few killers that could potentially count as supernatural (nurse or freddy), those are definitely in the minority.
thats also why i believe the stranger things monster will not make the cut.
Pretty sure the killers must be human, or HAVE been human. Also, as far as size goes, just look at the current killers for reference. Killers like Huntress are deemed Large while killers like Legion are deemed Average. Having one TOO large might have some issues with doorways. As far as the 2 movie killers you mentioned...do I have to remind you of the fact that we ALREADY have movie killers? So of course movie killers are possible.
Except Norman Bates and Jack Torrance aren't special in any way like Michael, Freddy, or Pig. Michael is a tank, Freddy is a demon, and Pig has reverse bear traps. Jack and Norman have an axe and a knife. Nothing special about them except that they're crazy.
Even tho all killers have been have been human so far as long as the killer is humanoid it can be any kind of monster, for example Peanits said that even the Xenomorph could come into the game, but it's unlikely since it doesn't really fit into the maps.
And yes, the killer can be a normal human. Trapper is a normal human, he only has bear traps and is really strong. As long as a power is based in reality and not completely useless I'd be completely fine with it.
One monster I'd like to see as a killer would be either a Wendigo or a Goatman, I think those have potential to be fun killers
