Every 24 hours, everyone loses 1 pip.
Those who don't want to play with casual players won't end up with them every month, while they also can't just race to the top in 2 days and stay there doing nothing for the next 29 days.
I prefer 1 pip per day, as it'll still be a constant battle to stay there, yet there's not much pressure either, you just gotta play a bit.
Now for those who don't play for a longer while, like after 5 days or something, maybe the rate of pip loss increases to 2, and then after another 5 days, it reaches the maximum, which is a whole rank per day.
