Is hex devour hope viable.

it sounds like a good hex perk but it is a hex perk after all and the chances of you hooking 3 or 5 people before someone takes it out are really high so should I use it or go for something different.

Not worth a perk slot past rank 12 I'd say... But you can get lucky.
thanks m8
Lemme put this way.
When it works it's incredible. When it doesn't, you're wondering why you even bother to bring it.
Mostly it's the latter.
Nurse is the only killer who can make reliable use of it due to her ability to down people lightning fast while also blinking back to defend her totem. Every other killer relies on good totem placement.
I feel like if needed 1 less token at each level, it would work. Or 2-3-4.
Honestly you are better off with tier 1 Devour Hope because survivors won't know until you can mori them. Only thing is it's a totem, and totems usually don't last that long. If you can get Lery's or the Game as killer they have good totem spots. Otherwise it's luck of the draw. It could last 10 minutes. It could be gone in the first 20 seconds of the game. IMO it's one of the most fun perks to use, it's just not very viable honestly.
Devour hope is a 'on paper this looks super powerful!' perk. In practice with everything that comes attached to it (totem spawns), no. No it's not.
The real value of Devour Hope comes with the one-shotting. The executions are just for fun. You only need 3 unhooks which is very viable if you're playing a top-tier killer.
