Killer idea: “The Future”—A more aggressive version of the Plague
I created this Killer because I didn’t feel that Plague’s vomit was appropriate for her playstyle, caught between a bizarre mix of methodical and aggressive, until she got Corrupt Purge, in which she goes out of her way to abandon pressure in the hopes of increased aggression for a short time. It feels janky, clunky, and just overall really rough. And so, I tried designing a Killer that maintains the idea of methodically building up power through hurting Survivors with their ability, but giving them a smoothed-out, better-paced feel.
KILLER: The Future
REAL NAME: Morgan Fitzgerald
MOVEMENT SPEED: 115% or 4.6 meters/second
TERROR RADIUS: 32 meters
A cybernetic Killer, able to attack Survivors from a distance using his Holographic Hook and transfer power to his Electronic Heart, keeping him in the fight and even powering him up in the form of an Overload.
POWER: Electronic Heart
The Future starts a trial with 100% battery power. Basic attacks drain 25% of the power gauge.
-When battery power is at 50%, The Future’s Terror Radius is reduced by 4 meters and their movement speed is slightly reduced (112.5% or 4.5 meters/second).
-When battery power is completely drained, The Future’s Terror Radius is reduced by 8 meters and his movement speed is moderately reduced (110% or 4.4 meters/second).
-The Future can still use any and all attacks and abilities, regardless of the amount of battery power left.
The Future can recharge his battery power through two means:
-The Future can throw his Holographic Hook at Survivors, which drains 50% of his battery power and goes on a 10-second recharge if it misses. Successfully hitting a Survivor will injure them, if they aren’t already injured, and inflicts the Survivor with the Electrocution status effect for 30 seconds. Hitting an Electrocuted Survivor restores 50% of the Future’s battery power and allows him to push his battery power gauge past 100%, up to a maximum of 200%.
-The Future can refill their battery power to 100% by breaking a generator. This also fries the generator for 60 seconds. A fried generator has no great skill checks (Hex: Ruin notwithstanding), has 20% less time between skill checks and their notifications, and failing a skill check Electrocutes the Survivor for 30 seconds.
If the Future reaches 200% battery power, only missed attacks will drain his power gauge, and he has the ability to manually activate his Overload at any time. While Overloaded:
-The Future’s movement speed is slightly increased (118% or 4.72 meters/second).
-The range of the Holographic Hook is slightly increased.
-The Future cannot gain more battery power until he drops to 100% or lower.
-Overloading ends when the Future drops to 100% battery power or lower.
Repaired generators are indicated to the Future with a deep red aura. Interacting with a fully repaired generators instantly fills the Future’s power gauge to 200%. A fully repaired generator cannot be interacted with for the rest of the trial after being used.
PERSONAL PERKS: Heatseeker, Inhuman Enhancement, Advanced Perception
Heatseeker: Unlocks potential in one’s aura-reading ability. Once the hatch has opened, its aura is revealed to you when in a radius of 36 meters. Closing the hatch results in the Endgame Collapse Timer being 10/15/20 seconds shorter than normal.
Inhuman Enhancement: Your remarkable performance has earned you the Entity’s favor. After hooking a Survivor, your next attack will cause the Mangled, Blindness, and Exhaustion status effects for 30/60/90 seconds.
Advanced Perception: Your tracking abilities are highly sound-sensitive. Loud noise cues reveal all Survivors within a 16-meter radius of the cue’s location for 4 seconds. If you are out of a chase when this happens, gain 1 second of a movement speed boost for every Survivor revealed.
And that’s the Future. Created with a more aggressive and consistent version of the Plague in mind. Thoughts?
Comments
He sounds balanced, his power sounds like Spirits where he relies on not messing up, but is rewarded extremely well for it. I like it. His perks are good too. I like Hearseeker, it sounds balanced.
