is it my internet?

i ran a speed test and have 10 ping, 214 mbps download and 11 mbps upload, this never used to happen until recently, survivors are losing connection, lagging, and im being blamed for lag swtich

  • Ping does not work that way. Seriously, look up what "ping" is.

If the survivors' ping is too high because they're in an underpopulated region and they don't know what lagswitching is (very common), they will accuse you of lagswitching, and the game will be laggy for them.

It's also possible your ISP is bad. The connection they're providing you is stable enough to browse and download stuff, maybe even play online games, but not stable enough to host.

That doesn't mean anything to me. I only know ISPs in my own country. You should look up customer reviews or something.

Then it's the survivors' fault. Connections work both ways.

The most important thing is the steady ping, if you see a surv/killer with spiking ping, your're going to have problems in the game. Even 300 ping is fine, as long as it is steady.

Too true. In the PTB I played with ping of upwards of 200 ms without any noticeable ping-related issues.

  • Yesterday i played killer doing the daily thing theres this twitch guy that i saw in a lobby with swf that have 190ms and others 90s well he was soo toxic that i just tunnel the guy for been that toxic well i hooked the guy and he got saved in like 1 oe 2 mins 3 ppl lost connection and the guy starts to teleport well i killed the guy and i got reported for lagswitching then he said to be when you get ban remember me xd

well, dedicated servers are in early build, hopefully the final build will finally fix the issue

All dedicated servers are going to do when it comes to ping is give latency advantage to the player(s) who live closest to the server. No more, no less.

  • It isnt always isp related it can also be due to hardware.

However with a fast line you can have still a problem if the attenuation or noise levels are high.

With hardware like a pc running on min specs it can create frame drops and lag as you are hosting 4 other player putting more strain on the equipment.

Lag can also be due to one survivor player having the worst connection, ive had that as survivor, being close to one survivor I lagged bad, being chased by the killer away from them was fine, as soon as I ran near that survivor when in a chase both myself and the killer had bad lag.

Lag switch is normally pretty obvious as it only happens when its and adventageous to them as those who cheat normally arent all that clever.
