Incremental balance changes

So as we've seen, we've had quite a few changes that negatively affected some players to a far greater degree than expected.

I'm willing to bet money that the changes as they stand will go through to the live game based on how feedback was acted upon in past PTBs.

So, since this is reality now, what can we as a community do now to avoid these kind of "surprises" in the future?

I would like to suggest to the devs that a more measured approach to balance be taken.

Using this PTB as an example, it might have been more effective to see how the Pig, and Remember Me actually came into play after people were actively using them with the Collapse.

Watch the gameplay and see how the players deal with the situations you're wary of.

We as a community would have seen what problems the Pig caused and could have offered up suggestions on how to remedy those problems.

These suggestions would have come from the players with more experience using the Pig and might have created a more welcoming environment for the changes that would have needed to take place.

The Pig and Remember Me DID need to be changed to accommodate the collapse, but the changes might have been overkill and as a result you have a playerbase that feels as though they have been beaten with the Legion over-nerf and sucker punched with the Pig nerf.

In the same way the community provided feedback during the Legion PTB on feral frenzy and deep wounds which was ultimately ignored, many of us have no faith when people say "this is just the ptb, wait to see how they change it" when it comes to the current nerfs waiting for the legion and the pig and the feedback that's being provided.

We're watching very closely this time. Show us how well you listen and act on feedback and temper some of these necessary nerfs back to be more fair and implement some of the ideas the community has offered up as alternatives to the nerfs you've implemented.

I'm willing to bet that you're seeing suggestions from the community that you didn't think of while planning these nerfs. Nerfs that the community would have been more receptive of and you'd be garnering more goodwill as a company that really does listen to feedback and genuinely cares about their playerbase.

Maybe in the future, change something, let us try it and break it and then use our feedback to nerf accordingly, because ideas on paper don't always work out in practice.
