What needs to change.
Thanks to the post from the user @Jimsalabim (which you can find here:https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/53068/players-amount-drop#latest ) there is a lot to worry about with the drop of players. With the fall of players, we'll notice longer queued times in lobbys, which has clearly been seen in complaints all across the forum and reddit posts, but what exactly needs to change? Well...
Ranking
Ranking, as it stands, currently has no purpose. There is no reason to rank up, but rather, rank down in how Dead By Daylight's community stands. The dev's solution was to ban those who purposely de-ranked to be faced with easy Survivors/Killers to actually have some fun. How do you fix this though? Well, the easy solution is to give Survivors and Killers a reward, anything. The rank's title is meaningless for those who have already achieved the somewhat worthless achievements. Bloodpoints, shards, auric cells, cosmetics, ANYTHING will do for the community. The other solution?
Game modes
Survivors and Killers from all across the board can agree that playing the same thing over and over again can get boring. This game is the legitimate definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But by adding new game modes, such as a casual matchmaking and a ranked matchmaking can mix and match those who want to either have fun or take the game seriously. And the devs can great creative with these modes as well! Take the long-time requested 2v8 game mode that most of the community has asked for. It would be fun to play against two Killers who mix and match their abilities to give the Survivors something to fear! Legion and Freddy, Huntress and Plague, Trapper and Hag, Michael and Piggy, imagine the possibilities! But what else is there??
Bugs and glitches
We're currently in 2.6.1 of Dead By Daylight, and we seemingly have more bugs than when the game originally came out. Killers and Survivors getting trapped in pallets, Survivors infinite windows that are blocked off by the entity still, INFINITE LOADING SCREENS. These issues are the reasons the player drop is increasing, as theres nothing fun about sitting there, expecting to have some 'fun' with your friends, only for the game to keep you in a lobby that has one empty survivor spot for half an hour or sitting in a loading screen that seemingly just caused your game to crash. Bugs and glitches should come first on a developer's time schedule, not 'leaking' perks that could grab a community's attention for a short time.
Reworks
A lot of perks and Killers need a rework. Freddy has been requested to be reworked since the day Survivors discovered his ability was easy to toy with. Perks that have been useless have not been changed in over a year, and when they have been changed, they either get nerfed a week later or stay in a broken state that would either still be useless as it originally was or overpowered to be abused by everyone. Take the community's suggestions for some things, if there is a large crowd behind something, you should generally try to appeal to that crowd, or else it will cause a downfall in your product or idea.
Community interaction
While its been asked before, and the lovely not_Queen has answered my question on this, we need a lot more community interaction with the developers. We need more things to do outside of the game. Whether it be creating content for the game for an event or just getting time to see what the devs are up to by filling us in every now and then, rather than waiting towards a new chapter's release to start communication again.
Survivors
As said in a lot of posts, Survivors need more. They're all just reskins. Update animations, give them more unique features and abilities. What difference does it make on who you're playing if they're just all running the same perks and items? They need more to establish WHY they're unique. You don't play Trapper because you think he's entirely just like the other killers, no, you play him because you like his playstyle, you like his trap mechanic, you like his overall design in that it's outside of the usual thing seen in other Killers. Survivors don't have to have some ability that makes them incredible, but having more interaction with who you play rather than their looks is badly needed towards them.
Whether or not this actually is seen by anyone working for BHVR, everything stated is something that needs to be established at some point SOON. We love the work and effort you're giving us, and it's probably looking bad on us to demand for more, but the game is too good to just let it up and die from lack of...Everything! We don't WANT more, we NEED more. Please.
