Impostor Killer Idea
Not sure how novel or interesting this idea is, but the concept for an impostor like killer has been floating around for some time. I was pondering upon this with a couple mates and thought I should share these rough thoughts here. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and I think this would be a cool concept to have in the game.
Imposter like killer - getting the killer to look like survivors would be hard and clunky, especially with so many cosmetic options, however, if their power made all survivors look like the killer this would cause chaos and work in the same way.
Killers Appearance - A mound of wormlike parasites, just a pile of worms in a humanoid shape. Could also be a plant like vine/tendril humanoid mound.
Power - when hitting/injuring a survivor they infect them, after some time the infection matures. When an infection is matured the killer is able to activate their power. Activating their power causes all fully infected survivors to swell into a mound of worms (or plants) with a humanoid shape looking like the killer, their name-tags disappear and the killer loses their terror radius for the duration (maybe a minute, not sure how long would be reasonable to get value but not too long to be game breaking.
Perks
A chaos/confusion increasing perk - when the killer kicks a generator their terror radius is applied to the survivor with the lowest chase time for (20) (25) 30 seconds, the perk goes on cooldown for a minute. The survivor who has the terror radius does not hear it, and the killer maintains their terror radius as well, causing there to be 2 terror radii, to spread confusion.
This perk is supposed to seed chaos by making it unclear where the killer is coming from, and push survivors away from each other/gens slowing the game down hopefully.
Information perk - when 2 or more survivors are within (4) (5) (6) meters of each other the killer is given a loud noise notification. This perk has a 1 minute cooldown.
This perk is supposed to give information regarding where survivors are grouped up, which might help dictate when to use the power for its best effect, and where to go once it is active, but not give away an absurd amount of information. This would hopefully balance the perk by giving a decent amount of very vague information.
Chase perk - when more than one non-dying state survivor is the killer's terror radius their basic attack cooldown is reduced. (5%) (10%) 15% for 2 survivors, (20%) (25%) 30% for 3 survivors, (40%) (45%) 50% for 4 survivors inside the terror radius.
This is supposed to encourage attacking survivors in large groups, ideally finding 1 lone survivor while the power is active would result in an easier down, however, with this perk, if survivors group up to counter it, this will allow to quickly down 1 survivor causing the others to scatter, and if they are downed the effectiveness is reduced preventing full team downs from one good play.
This killer would likely synergise well with some already present perks such as Monitor and Abuse, Dark Devotion, and Distressing as these alter the terror radius and can cause more chaos, as well as perks such as Discordance, Surveillance and Nurses Calling that give information as to the whereabouts/numbers of survivors in certain locations.
Haven't really thought of addons or Moris or other important details. The perk timings/durations are also just some rough ideas, but I thought that I should share this concept regardless, though others may have already thought of similar and more detailed killers.
Comments
I think if a killer like this were to ever come to the game which I really hope it does, would be by doing something like this maybe an Illusion magic type of killer that makes every bodies HUD dissapear, everyone just turns into shadow figures or something,
yea, that might work a bit better. It might be easier to implement and less clunky in the game.
