New killer idea (originally a tlou (the last of us) concept
Dead by Daylight Fan Chapter Concept: The Last of Us — The Host
Killer: The Host
Real Name: Arthur Hayes
Power: Cordyceps Adaptation
Difficulty: Very Hard
“The infection did not consume him. It trapped him.”
Lore: Arthur Hayes
Arthur Hayes was a devoted father and a high school biology teacher living on the outskirts of Denver when the Cordyceps outbreak began.
When the world collapsed, Arthur did not care about the fall of civilization. He did not care about governments, cities, or the world he lost. The only thing that mattered was protecting his twelve-year-old daughter, Zoe.
For years, Arthur and Zoe survived in the wilderness, moving between abandoned camps, ruined towns, and forgotten safe zones. Using the knowledge he once used to teach his students, Arthur studied the infected. He tracked their patterns, learned their behavior, and avoided areas consumed by spores.
But eventually, their luck ran out.
During a desperate escape from a horde of Runners at an abandoned military checkpoint, Arthur was bitten while protecting Zoe from an infected attacker.
Knowing what would happen, Arthur begged Zoe to run.
He locked himself inside a metal security booth, preparing for the infection to take over. He expected the pain, the transformation, and the loss of his humanity.
He expected the darkness.
But the darkness never came.
Instead, Arthur’s immune system fought back in a horrifying and unexplained way.
He did not become a mindless Runner.
He did not lose his consciousness.
He remained awake.
Trapped inside his own body.
The Cordyceps infection controlled his muscles, nerves, and vocal cords, but Arthur’s mind remained human. He was forced to watch as his body acted against his will.
When the booth doors finally opened, it was not FEDRA or survivors who found him.
It was the Fog.
The Entity sensed a unique kind of suffering. It did not need to corrupt Arthur because he was already trapped in his own nightmare.
It simply allowed the infection to control his body while Arthur remained powerless inside.
Now, inside the Entity’s Realm, Arthur is forced to hunt innocent Survivors. Every attack is a battle between the person he used to be and the infection controlling him.
Sometimes, through his broken vocal cords, Arthur manages to force out a few words:
“Run.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Zoe.”
Power: Cordyceps Adaptation
The Host is a human who has developed a unique relationship with the Cordyceps infection. Unlike normal infected, Arthur has retained his intelligence, but the Entity constantly pushes him toward losing control.
The Host can infect Survivors, causing them to progress through multiple stages of infection.
Infection System
Stage 1: Early Infection
Survivors become infected but suffer no major effects.
They can locate FEDRA Medical Cases around the map to obtain Cordyceps Suppressants.
Stage 2: Runner Infection
The infection begins changing the Survivor.
Effects:
- Survivors gain 2% Haste.
- All Survivor actions are 5% slower.
The infection provides a small advantage, but at the cost of overall effectiveness.
Stage 3: Clicker Infection
The infection progresses further.
Effects:
- The Survivor’s screen becomes slightly darker.
- The Runner Haste bonus is removed.
- A Full Conversion meter begins filling.
Survivors can still cure themselves during this stage.
Stage 4: Full Conversion
Once the conversion meter fills:
- FEDRA Medical Cases can no longer be used by that Survivor.
- Their infection can no longer be reset.
If The Host downs a fully converted Survivor, he can perform his special Mori.
FEDRA Medical Cases
Four FEDRA Medical Cases spawn around the map.
Inside are Cordyceps Suppressants.
Using a Suppressant:
- Completely removes infection.
- Resets the Survivor back to Stage 1.
However, supplies are limited.
Survivors must decide whether to use suppressants early or save them for later stages of infection.
If the team wastes all supplies too early, they may have no way to stop Full Conversion later in the match.
Special Mori: “Zoe”
The Host downs a fully converted Survivor.
For a brief moment, Arthur regains control.
He pushes the Survivor away.
“Run…”
He tries to stop himself.
But the infection takes control again.
Arthur lunges forward, fighting against his own body.
“No…”
“Stop…”
The infection wins.
After the kill, Arthur stands silently.
The infection fades for a moment.
The human side returns.
Arthur looks down, tears forming.
“Zoe…”
Personality and Loss of Control
The Host’s greatest weakness is that Arthur is still inside.
At the beginning of a trial:
- Arthur occasionally scratches at the infection on his face.
- He tries to maintain control.
- His human voice can sometimes be heard.
As the trial continues:
- The infection takes more control.
- His movements become more aggressive.
- His human voice becomes harder to hear.
After multiple sacrifices:
- Arthur is almost completely lost.
- He no longer apologizes.
- His infected behavior becomes dominant.
The only moment where the Entity allows him to regain control is during his Mori, forcing him to remember what he has done.
Killer Idle Animations
The Host’s idle animation changes depending on the state of the trial.
Early Trial:
- Arthur stands mostly still.
- Occasionally scratches at his face.
- He looks at his hands as if trying to understand what is happening.
Mid Trial:
- He becomes more desperate.
- He grabs his head.
- His breathing becomes heavier.
- He tries to remove the infection.
Late Trial:
- He is almost constantly fighting himself.
- The infection controls more of his movements.
- His human side becomes rare.
Voice Lines
During chases, Survivors may hear infected noises mixed with Arthur’s voice.
Examples:
“Run…”
“I’m sor—”
“Get away from me…”
“Zoe…”
The more control Arthur loses, the less human his voice becomes.

Perks: WIP
Hostile Adaptation
“The infection learns from every struggle. Every encounter makes it stronger.”
Every time you hook a Survivor for the first time, gain 1 Token.
Each Token increases the speed at which Survivors gain infection by: 5% / 10% / 15% per Token
Maximum of 4 Tokens. At maximum Tokens, the infection reaches its peak.
Biological Instinct
“After years of studying the infected, Arthur learned that every creature leaves signs of its behavior.”
When a Survivor performs a rushed action:
- Fast vaulting,
- Running into a locker,
- Fast pallet interaction,
their aura is revealed for 3 / 4 / 5 seconds.
Cooldown:
30 / 25 / 20 seconds
No Longer Human
“The man inside is still fighting. The monster is not listening.”
After losing a chase with a Survivor (they stun or blind you): Gain a token.
Each token slightly increases:
- Attack recovery speed
- movement speed after recovering,
Maximum:
3 tokens
Tokens reset when a Survivor is sacrificed or killed.
Main Concept
The Host is not terrifying because he is a monster.
He is terrifying because there is still a human being trapped inside the monster.
The Entity does not create his suffering.
It uses it.
if you guys have any ideas of what I should change or even ideas for different perks feel free to leave them here I’m actually posting this to get it out and to get more inspiration!!!!
