Limited-Time “Classic DBD” Game Mode

I would LOVE to see a limited-time game mode that brings back old-school Dead by Daylight for one week.

Not a permanent change just a nostalgia event where players can experience DBD the way it used to be.

The idea:

Bring back as many classic mechanics as possible, including:

Old survivor and killer movement/chase mechanics

Old graphics, lighting, animations and UI

Old hook mechanics, including the old self-unhook system

Old hatch mechanics

Old generator mechanics

Classic versions of iconic perks like Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Hex: Ruin, Self-Care, etc.

Older item and add-on behavior

Classic map versions where possible

Old-school sound effects and animations

Potentially even old Killer mechanics/powers

The goal wouldn’t be balance. The goal would be nostalgia and fun.

It could be called something like “DBD Classic,” “The Fog: Old Times,” or “Back to the Fog.”

I think it would be especially cool if BHVR made it a one week event so newer players could experience what DBD was like years ago, while veteran players could revisit the game they remember.

And honestly, Chaos Shuffle, Lights Out, and 2v8 have already shown that players enjoy temporary experimental modes. A Classic DBD event would be another perfect limited-time experiment.

    nobody would play killer. They should never go back to 2016 dbd. Maybe 2019 or 2018 which in my opinion were the best years to play the game for both sides.

    Yeah, although it sounds fun to be able to go back to when DBD was actually seen more as a horror game, unfortunately the balance would be so bad that no one would want to play killer, and that's just because of how the game and its playerbase has evolved over the years. People don't play like they did back in 2016. Something like this would be fun in customs, but it would be miserable for killers in public queues

    I would play the crap out of this even with how unbalanced it would be just because I miss the old atmosphere 😅

    old bnp with old swamp is unplayable and if you include infinites it's even worse. i don't think people remember how bad swamp used to be with 4 stacked mist add-ons or 2 mist and 2 moonlight offerings where it was really dark and you couldn't see anything due to mist the only reason it was bearable back then was because everyone was terrible
