A Lore-Friendly Alternative: Why White Hunter Should Be a Legendary Skin for Pyramid Head
Hey everyone,
*(Quick heads up: Having some technical trouble uploading my .jpeg concept art directly to the forum right now, but I wanted to get this idea out to you all!)*
With the Silent Hill chapter being one of the most iconic additions to Dead by Daylight, I wanted to pitch an idea that would make both DBD fans and die-hard Silent Hill lore enthusiasts incredibly happy: adding **The White Hunter** as a Legendary Outfit for The Executioner.
**Why this matters for the lore:**
Franchise artist Masahiro Ito has openly discussed how the Red Pyramid Thing is uniquely tied to James Sunderland's specific guilt in Silent Hill 2. However, Ito actually created a white-helmeted variant called "White Hunter" (*Белый охотник*) for a short promotional comic.
**How it fits into Dead by Daylight:**
Unlike the original Pyramid Head, the White Hunter's lore is entirely detached from James. He is a statuesque entity "programmed" to watch and hunt bizarre "Angel" creatures (which resemble the Slurper from SH3 with cherubic wings). Because he is a mindless hunter fulfilling a built-in program, hunting survivors in the Entity's Fog fits his blank slate perfectly.
**Visual & Audio Potential for a Legendary Skin:**
* **Head:** A pristine, smooth white pyramid helmet instead of the rusted, dark reddish-brown one, featuring the small opening/crevice in the front.
* **Weapon:** A massive, mechanical lance resembling a giant box cutter or switchblade rather than the Great Knife.
* **Unique Animation (Mori/Idle):** In his lore, his retractable blade is triggered by ramming the bottom edge into the ground. This would make a phenomenal animation for his basic attack cooldown or part of his Mori!
* **Thematic Connection:** The comic's imagery plays heavily on a corrupted "Saint Michael vs. Satan" dynamic, which aligns beautifully with DBD's dark, sacrificial themes.
Masahiro Ito himself has previously supported using White Hunter for crossover appearances to protect the symbolic nature of the original character. It would be an amazing, deep-cut cosmetic for fans and a great nod to the creator's vision!
What do you all think? Would you buy a White Hunter Legendary skin?
