For years, the Dead by Daylight community has dreamed about what a Jurassic Park chapter could look like. While many have suggested the idea, I wanted to go a step further and design a complete chapter as if it were an official Behaviour Interactive reveal.

This proposal includes a brand-new Killer with unique mechanics, three iconic Survivors, original perks, Legendary cosmetics spanning both the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises, a fully realized Isla Nublar map, immersive environmental details, and gameplay mechanics that I believe would make this one of the most unique chapters ever introduced to Dead by Daylight.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Jurassic Park, a dedicated Dead by Daylight player, or both, I hope you enjoy reading this concept as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Welcome to Jurassic Domain.

New Killer

The Predator

Default Appearance

The Big One from the original Jurassic Park.

Fast. Intelligent. Relentless.

Unlike any Killer before it, The Predator doesn’t rely on supernatural powers or weapons. It hunts through instinct, coordination, and speed.

Killer Power

Pack Hunter

“The hunt is never carried out alone.”

The Predator places three Pack Calls throughout the map.

After a short delay, AI-controlled pack members emerge from the jungle to patrol the selected area.

Depending on balance, these could be:

  • Another Velociraptor
  • A Dilophosaurus
  • Another small agile carnivore from the Jurassic franchise

When a Survivor enters their patrol zone, the AI hunter can:

  • Chase the Survivor for a short distance.
  • Alert The Predator with Killer Instinct.
  • Injure the Survivor if it catches them.
  • Force Survivors away from objectives.
  • Disappear back into the jungle after completing its hunt before becoming available again.

This mechanic captures what made the Velociraptors so terrifying in the films—they hunt together.

Special Attack

Pounce

Charge a powerful leap capable of clearing windows, vault locations, and low obstacles.

Landing successfully injures a Survivor.

Missing leaves The Predator vulnerable.

Unique Animations

This Killer should feel alive.

Idle Animation

  • Slow breathing.
  • Eyes constantly scanning.
  • Tail swaying naturally.
  • Small head tilts as if listening.
  • Occasional claw flexes.

Hunt Animation

While tracking Survivors:

  • Lowers its body closer to the ground.
  • Tail stiffens for balance.
  • Emits soft growls.
  • Occasionally sniffs the air.

Chase Animation

When entering chase:

  • Accelerates into a true raptor sprint.
  • Tail swings dynamically around corners.
  • Mouth opens with aggressive hisses.

Stun Animation

Instead of simply recoiling:

The Predator lets out an angry screech before shaking its head and snapping its jaws, almost insulted that its prey fought back.

Occasionally, it gives the iconic curious head tilt afterward.

Missed Attack

Instead of stumbling like a humanoid Killer:

The Predator skids across the ground, digging its claws into the dirt before quickly recovering.

Pallet Break

It doesn’t punch.

It violently slashes through wooden pallets with both feet and foreclaws before shoving the remains aside.

Generator Damage

The Predator tears into the generator with repeated claw strikes and bites at exposed wiring, emphasizing that its body is its weapon.

Carry Animation

One of the most unique animations in Dead by Daylight.

Instead of carrying Survivors over its shoulder…

The Predator grips the Survivor by the shoulder or upper torso with its jaws while supporting their weight with its neck and body.

The Survivor struggles desperately as they’re dragged toward the hook.

It immediately communicates that this Killer is an animal—not a person.

Weapon Cosmetics

Since The Predator has no traditional weapon, its natural anatomy becomes its cosmetic category.

Claws

Cosmetic variations include:

  • Razor Sharp
  • Battle Scarred
  • Mud Covered
  • Blood Stained
  • Entity Corrupted

Teeth

Players can also customize:

  • Clean Ivory Teeth
  • Chipped Teeth
  • Blood Covered Teeth
  • Weathered Teeth
  • Entity Corrupted Teeth with glowing cracks

No Killer has ever customized its own anatomy in this way, making The Predator feel completely unique.

Mori

The Survivor crawls away in desperation.

The Predator slowly circles its prey. And sounding a call to call the pack.

A distant raptor call echoes.

Suddenly—

A second Velociraptor bursts from the jungle and attacks from the side.

Both predators overwhelm the Survivor together.

A perfect homage to the legendary “Clever Girl” scene.

## Unique Personality & Animations

One of the defining characteristics of the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park was their intelligence. They weren't mindless monsters—they observed, learned, communicated, and adapted. To capture that feeling, The Predator should have a full set of unique animations and behaviors that make it feel like a living animal rather than just another Killer.

### Idle

When not actively hunting, The Predator constantly scans its surroundings. It slowly breathes, flicks its tail for balance, flexes its claws into the ground, and occasionally emits low growls or soft chirps. Every so often, it tilts its head as if listening for movement, recreating the unsettling curiosity seen in the films.

### Tracking

While following Survivors, The Predator lowers its body into a stalking posture, keeping close to the ground. It may pause briefly to sniff the air, glance toward scratch marks, or quietly observe before continuing the hunt, emphasizing that it is tracking prey rather than simply chasing it.

### Chase

Once a Survivor is spotted, The Predator explodes into a full sprint. Its tail swings naturally to maintain balance through sharp turns, its head remains locked on its target, and its jaws open with aggressive hisses and snarls. The movement should feel fast, fluid, and unmistakably animalistic.

### Stunned

When hit by a pallet, The Predator recoils with an angry screech before violently snapping its jaws in frustration. After recovering, it may briefly tilt its head toward the Survivor, almost as if reassessing its prey before continuing the hunt.

### Missed Attack

Instead of stumbling like a humanoid Killer, The Predator digs its claws into the ground to regain its footing, kicking up dirt as it quickly recovers.

### Breaking Pallets

Rather than punching through obstacles, The Predator tears pallets apart using powerful claw strikes, bites, and body weight, leaving shattered wood scattered behind.

### Damaging Generators

The Predator attacks generators like a wild animal, slashing exposed machinery with its claws and biting into cables and metal components before moving on.

### Carry Animation

Instead of carrying Survivors over its shoulder, The Predator grips them by the shoulder or upper torso with its jaws while supporting their weight with its powerful neck and body. Survivors struggle and kick as they're dragged toward the hook, creating one of the most distinctive carry animations in Dead by Daylight.

### Hooking Animation

Upon reaching a hook, The Predator forcefully hoists the Survivor upward using its jaws before releasing them onto the hook. Once the Survivor is hooked, it lets out a sharp warning screech and briefly watches its captured prey before turning away.

These details are purely cosmetic and have no gameplay advantage, but they would make The Predator feel like an intelligent apex predator—constantly studying, adapting, and hunting. Every movement should remind players that they are not being pursued by a supernatural monster or a masked killer, but by one of cinema's most iconic and cunning predators.

# A Tribute to Sam Neill

Bringing Dr. Alan Grant into Dead by Daylight would be more than just introducing another Survivor—it would be a celebration of one of cinema's most beloved characters and the actor who brought him to life.

Sam Neill's portrayal of Dr. Alan Grant helped define Jurassic Park as a timeless classic. His performance captured the intelligence, courage, compassion, and resilience that made Alan Grant one of the most iconic protagonists in film history. Faced with impossible odds, he never relied on superhuman abilities or advanced weapons—only his knowledge, instincts, and determination to protect those around him.

Those qualities perfectly embody what it means to be a Survivor in Dead by Daylight.

If licensing allows, this chapter should faithfully recreate Sam Neill's likeness and, ideally, include authentic voice work to honor the unforgettable performance that inspired generations of fans. Every detail, from his iconic hat and red bandana to his calm determination in the face of danger, should reflect the respect this legendary character deserves.

This chapter isn't simply about adding dinosaurs to Dead by Daylight. It's about honoring the legacy of Jurassic Park, the unforgettable performances that made it a cultural phenomenon, and the enduring impact of Sam Neill's Dr. Alan Grant.

Some characters become legends.

Dr. Alan Grant is one of them.
