Character Concept: A Dual Survivor/Killer Werewolf Chapter

I know werewolf Killers have probably been suggested before, especially now that Dracula has a wolf form, but I think this would be different because the main idea is not just “add a werewolf.”

The hook is: one character who is both a Survivor and a Killer.

Her human self would be the Survivor, and her werewolf form would be the Killer. The Entity basically takes someone already cursed with lycanthropy and uses both sides of her suffering.

As a Survivor, she is trying to hold onto her humanity and protect people from the thing she becomes. As a Killer, the Entity forces the wolf out and turns her curse into a weapon.

The full moon could be a big visual theme for her. Even if the Entity can force the transformation whenever it wants, the full moon still matters symbolically because of werewolf folklore. Her Killer loading screen could show the moon behind her transformed silhouette, while her Survivor loading screen could show her human self under that same moonlight. Outdoor maps could even have a full moon when she is the Killer.

For gameplay, I think she should reward spreading pressure instead of tunneling. Her power could build around Hunger or Blood Moon, where she gets stronger when multiple unique Survivors are injured or hooked. Repeatedly targeting the same Survivor would give less value, so her strongest playstyle would be hunting the whole team.

Her tracking could be based on scent. At the start of the match, she lets out a howl so Survivors know who they are facing, but she also gets some early momentum by sensing where Survivors spawned or where their scent trails are.

To keep that fair, Survivors could use special map objects to mask their scent, almost like Plague fountains. Maybe they cover themselves with ash, herbs, mud, or something Entity-made. While masked, her tracking is weaker. If she hits them, the scent masking gets knocked off, so they have to decide whether to reapply it or stay on gens.

One of the coolest parts would be her animation changes. At first, she moves like she is prowling. As her Hunger builds, she becomes more animalistic — lower posture, heavier breathing, more desperate attacks. At high Hunger, she could almost gallop in chase. At full power, she is fully feral, sprinting and lunging like the curse completely took over.

Instead of giving her a basic dash, I think her chase power should feel like animalistic desperation: stronger lunge, faster hit recovery, and more aggressive animations. Survivors should be able to see the Trial getting worse.

The human Survivor interacting with her werewolf self could also be really creepy. For balance, pre-match reactions should probably be Killer-side only so Survivors cannot dodge or switch builds. But if her human self is in the lobby, maybe the werewolf’s loading screen growl turns into a confused whimper, or a distorted whisper says:

“Run.”

Then in-match, if her Survivor self sees the werewolf, she could have rare voice lines like:

“I know that scent… is that… me?”

or

“You’re not me. You’re not me.”

Her Survivor perks could be based on heightened senses, cursed strength, and restraint. Her Killer perks could be based on predator instinct and information, but in a way that encourages leaving the hook and pressuring different Survivors. I guess lol, perks are the hardest part for me to think of.

Overall, I think this would make her feel different from Dracula’s wolf form because her entire identity is built around duality: human and beast, victim and predator, restraint and hunger.

It is not just a werewolf Killer. It is one cursed person split across both sides of the Trial, and that feels very Dead by Daylight to me.

Also, it is SO important to me that if this chapter or any future werewolf concept chapters come — that is does NOT use twilight's LAME interpretation of werewolves. I'm talking Van Helsing's werewolf design. Even as a female survivor, that should not feminize her werewolf form in the slightest.

This has just been on my mind for a while, and I liked it enough to think too much into it.
