Why do we not get event points for hooking survivors or completing generators?

This has been a staple every event for who knows how long, and it's gone now? Why?

    I dont understand the killers not getting points for hooking, but it takes you two seconds to get a cake and eat it, its infinitely easier to farm the points by eating cakes/ bringing them to a table and you get buffs.

    Sa!e reason w less cakes, it forces you to play the game more.

    It seems like they've just making the game good enough to hold up on it's own.
