New perks concept

Subject: Introducing Targeted Gameplay Pressure
The Vision: Individual Accountability
To evolve the Dead by Daylight meta, we are moving away from the "all-or-nothing" global Hex system. We are exploring a new perk classification: Survivor Curses.
Unlike Hexes, which apply a blanket effect to all Survivors and can be removed by a single totem cleanse, a Survivor Curse is a precision tool. It is a targeted, individual debuff tied to a specific player's actions, creating a high-stakes mini-game that forces the individual to manage their own penalty.
Understanding the System
Survivor Curses are designed to be varied and dynamic. Every curse within this class shares a core framework, though the specific mechanics will differ for each perk:
- Activation Cost: A unique trigger condition that the Killer must meet (e.g., successful hits, chase duration, or specific power usage).
- The Curse: A targeted penalty applied only to the specific Survivor, forcing them to alter their playstyle.
- Deactivation Cost: A requirement the Survivor must meet to clear the curse, ensuring the penalty remains until the Survivor earns their way out of it.
Example Concept: Curse: Shattered Path
This is just one example of how this system could function to reward Killers for maintaining pressure.
- Activation: After successfully landing a basic attack during a chase, the Survivor is Cursed.
- The Effect: Any pallet thrown by the Cursed Survivor will automatically shatter and be destroyed 30 seconds after deployment.
- Deactivation Cost: The curse persists until the Survivor completes a "high-stakes" action—such as performing a safe unhook or fully healing from the Injured state. If the Killer loses the chase with the Cursed Survivor, the curse is removed.
Strategic Impact
- For the Killer: You are no longer just chasing; you are setting traps for the future. By cursing a Survivor, you are systematically stripping the map of resources or applying pressure that the Survivor must actively work to remove.
- For the Survivor: The "safety" of a loop becomes a liability. Choosing to drop a pallet is a tactical decision—do you burn the resource now, knowing it will be gone in 30 seconds?
