[Killer Concept] The Alligator — Swamp Hunter from the Louisiana Bayou

The AlligatorKiller Concept

Overview

The Alligator isa swamp-themed killer with a unique mix of area control, mobility, and ambush potential. He uses roots to lock down loops and can dive underground to reposition and surprise survivors.

Appearance

A tall humanoid hunter completely covered in a full alligator skin.

  • The alligator’s head serves as a helmet, with Kit looking through its slightly open jaws.
  • The skin hangs down like a long cloak reaching the ground.
  • His entire body is covered in dark green crocodile skin.
  • His legs are wrapped in roots and wet swamp slime.
  • Movement sounds include splashing water, cracking branches, and the creaking of wet leather.

Power: The Mire

Active Ability: Roots of the MireKit releases a wide line of roots across the ground.

  • Preparation time: 1.2 seconds
  • Length: 24 meters
  • Can block up to 2 objects (Windows, regular doorways, Pallets) for 12 seconds
  • Pallets: Raised pallets cannot be dropped. Dropped pallets can be vaulted but with 20% Hindered.
  • Cooldown: 25 seconds

Passive Ability: Beneath the SwampKit can dive underground at any time.

  • Underground speed: 8.5 m/s
  • Maximum time underground: 15 seconds
  • Can emerge instantly or perform a partial ambush (red glow → 1.5s delay → 5 meter lunge)
  • After lunge: 2 second stun on himself
  • If he stays underground too long, Muckbeast (his giant alligator partner) grabs him and throws him out with a 1 second stun.

Special Animations

  • Mori: Kit strikes the survivor with his club, roots bind them, and Muckbeast erupts from a swamp hole below, dragging the survivor into the depths.
  • Breaking Pallets / Doors: Kit does not break them himself — Muckbeast bursts out of the ground at high speed, smashes the object, and returns underground (same duration as normal break).

Perks

1. They Won’t Save YouWhen a Survivor is put into the Dying State, all windows and dropped pallets within 16 meters are blocked by roots for 20 seconds. Survivors can destroy the block in 1.5 seconds.

2. I Know Who Did ItAfter hitting a Survivor, if they were fully healed by another Survivor in the last 60 seconds, the aura of the healer is revealed to you for 12 seconds.

3. Swamp SlimeAt the start of the match, 4 random generators gain a slime zone (8 meter radius). Survivors inside suffer 8% Hindered, louder noises (+50%), and more visible footprints.

Lore

Kit Cowan was born and raised in the very heart of the Louisiana bayou — in the forgotten village called Blackroot Hollow, surrounded by impenetrable swamps. Since childhood, he was nicknamed “Little Alligator” — because of his enormous height, brute strength, and the fact that from the age of 12 he hunted crocodiles with his bare hands, using only a rope and an old cleaver.

Over time, he became the best poacher and hunter in the area. People feared him and respected him at the same time. They said that he “understands the swamp too well” — as if the swamp itself spoke to him. Kit could sit neck-deep in black water for hours without moving, waiting for an alligator to swim up to him on its own.

Turning Point:

In 2014–2015, people began disappearing in the area — mostly tourists, rival poachers, and locals who “talked too much.” Kit began to believe that the swamp demanded sacrifices. He decided that he had become the chosen protector of the mire. Gradually, he moved from killing animals to killing people, whom he considered “parasites of the swamp.”

He skinned his victims and sewed their skin together with alligator hides, creating a “second skin” for himself in order to finally merge with the swamp. His last victim was his own younger sister, whom he accused of “bringing outsiders into the swamp.”

When Kit had completely lost his mind and put on an almost finished “suit” made of human and alligator skin, the swamp took him. The Entity opened a rift directly beneath him while he stood waist-deep in the mire with his next victim. Kit did not resist — he thought he was finally “becoming part of something greater.”

Muckbeast (The Old King) Long before the Entity took Kit, a legend existed in the swamps of Blackroot Hollow about the “Old King” — a gigantic, ancient alligator that had supposedly lived in these mires for over a hundred years. Locals said it was not an ordinary beast, but the spirit guardian of the swamp.

Kit met him on one particularly dark night. Instead of killing the monstrous alligator, he felt a strange connection. From that moment, the Old King (whom Kit later named Muckbeast) became his silent hunting partner. Kit left him the best pieces of his victims, and the giant alligator would sometimes appear at the right moment to drive prey toward him or protect him from pursuers.

When the Entity took Kit into the Fog, it also took Muckbeast — as part of his essence. Now this gigantic alligator exists within the power “The Mire.” He is the manifestation of the swamp’s will and watches over Kit.

Closing Thoughts

This is my full concept for The Alligator. I tried to create a killer that feels unique, atmospheric and fun to play — combining map control, mobility and strong swamp theme.

I would love to hear your feedback!
What do you think about the power? Are the numbers balanced? Do you like the lore and the idea of Muckbeast as his "partner"? Any suggestions, criticism or ideas for improvement are very welcome!
