Apart from seeing the animation of a survivor installing a wire tap or blast mine trap on a generator, are there other ways a killer knows if a gen has been trapped or not before kicking it?

No they can't see the traps. Only survivors see the flashbang on top of the gen when Blast Mine is active on it. Only way to know the gen is trapped as the killer is to see the animation when they place it.
