Disconnects in Endgame Incorrectly Count as Escapes / Lack of Proper Penalty Differentiation
Hello,
I would like to report an issue regarding how disconnections (DCs) are handled during the endgame phase.
Currently, when a survivor disconnects near the end of a match (especially when they are about to be killed), the system may register the result in a way that does not clearly reflect a disconnection. In some cases, it appears similar to an escape or does not properly represent the killer’s performance.
This creates several problems:
- It negatively impacts the accuracy of match results and statistics
- It allows survivors to intentionally disconnect to deny a proper kill outcome
- It reduces the overall fairness and satisfaction of the endgame experience for killers
Suggested Improvements:
- Clearly differentiate disconnections in match results
- Display “Disconnected” instead of any form of escape or unclear outcome
- Apply stricter penalties for disconnections during endgame
- Especially when the player is in a losing state (e.g., last survivor, downed, or about to be hooked)
- Improve detection of intentional disconnections vs. connection-related issues
- If possible, distinguish forced game closures from genuine connection drops
- Ensure that killer rewards and statistics are not negatively affected by survivor disconnections
This issue is frequently discussed in the community and affects match integrity and player experience.
Comments
Those might be Abandons, not disconnects. With Abandons they get the option to leave with all their points as if they died on the spot. Usualy gives the option when everyone is slugged or on hooks. Or being slugged too often.
They are rather buggy when it comes to the score screen. But even if it shows escaped, online stats should show they died.
