Grimoire: Hopeless Exile is Uninteractive. Killer Should be Able to Enter
It's been revealed that The Judgement is no longer going to be able to enter the Hopeless Exile and deliver judgement themselves.
I think this defeats the entire reason why almost everyone voted for the Hopeless Exile. Honestly, without Killer interactivity, I think the Hopeless Exile is going to be an immensely hated mechanic in its current proposed state.
As it stands, the Hopeless Exile is only exciting because it's new and different. But as soon as the novelty wears off, players are going to realize it's uninteractive and repetitive, and dying to it is going to feel bad and people complain about it - just like how players hate being outplayed by Knight's Guards, just like how players hated Skull Merchant's passive lethality where she got injuries with no input, this will have a similar reaction.
It does sound terribly unfun to engage with, without direct player interaction with each other, on a level that Onryo tapes get a bad rap.
It's going to be seen as uninteractive busywork as long as the Killer cannot interact with it.
If the feedback from internal playtesting was that entering the Exile didn't have a payoff that was worth it, surely there must be a way to make it worth entering the Exile:
For example, successfully delivering Judgement while in the Exile enables an empowered state or grants you multiple charges of Ray of Retribution when you return to the Trial.
Whatever happens, I strongly believe the Killer must be able to enter the Exile for this power to be received well. Even if it wouldn't be "meta" to enter the Exile, the option to enter it at all would be wonderful.
