The new way of ranking in DBD (silver, gold, iris…) is starting to really piss me of. Before if u did good you were going up, bad down and if u were doing ok you stayed. Like that you could really know your level and now the MMR is a mess. Change it back or do something else because i'm really tired of pairing with players who don't know how to play or know how to play too much.

For what it's worth, the ranks have no ties to skill or performance. You could do amazing and still lose grade, or do awful and go up a grade. The grading ranks there only show how much you've played during a month, nothing more. We have never had a reliable way to tell where we are MMR-wise outside of ingame player behavior/tactics/skill. Even if you generally did well and went up a grade, it would act that way regardless of where you were in mmr (whether brand new or a seasoned veteran). A brand new player could get iridescent 1 just as much as a veteran could. Didn't really show skill, just time played.
Long story short, nothing had really changed other than you can more reliably get higher ranks for more bp before the reset.
