Dear dbd development team, please work on securing a switch 2 development kit and getting us a dedicated switch 2 upgrade asap, the platform has a decent player base and the only other handheld way to play dbd without getting a bulky windows handheld is via steam deck, the switch 2 has technologies and performance capabilities that could vastly improve the dead by daylight experience on the system and would provide another viable handheld way to play the game, to better assist the team with what the community is hoping to see I will list some ideas for optimizing a port for the new system. If this is not possible even a 60fps patch via unlocking the frame rate on the switch 1 version would help.

  1. USING A UE5 DLSS PLUGIN - DBD using Unreal engine 5 would make it theoretically easy to apply a custom dlss preset by using the provided plug ins, the game already has motion vectors present from TAA making its addition to the switch port even easier and allowing the game to hit a stable 60fps with high image quality.
  2. UTILIZING VRR FOR A FLUID 40 FPS EXPERIENCE - This would allow developers to prevent the unstable performance seen on last gen consoles (Xbox one, ps4) combined with dlss hitting this frame rate consistently should not be difficult and would provide a vastly better experience than the 30fps limit currently on switch.
  3. 2 GRAPHICS MODES - if the development team is still unable to get a desired performance level after a given level of optimization give players to option to choose between a 30fps graphics mode and 60fps mode.

    These are just some of my ideas I truly hope the team gets to making a dedicated port soon it’s so sad seeing the game in its current state on switch 2, the system is definitely powerful enough for a much better experience. I hope my feedback helps.

    this is upsetting, nearly 2 months later and still no update, I hope behaviour gives us what we’ve been begging for soon or atleast gives us a 60fps option on the switch 1 version, this sucks.
