Killer Concept Proposal: The Nun – Indirect Control & Psychological Pressure
Hello Behaviour Team and fellow Fog enjoyers,
First, I want to say thank you for continuing to experiment with unique killer mechanics and for encouraging proactive community ideas. I’d like to propose a killer concept that focuses less on raw lethality and more on indirect control, psychological pressure, and endgame tension.
This concept is built around a killer who does not rely on traditional “direct” damage, but instead weakens survivors through layered status effects and time pressure.
Killer Name: The Nun
Theme: A silent, ominous figure who cannot “directly” harm survivors, but instead condemns them through lingering afflictions and fear.
Core Power: Indirect Attacks
The Nun cannot deal standard damaging basic attacks.
Instead, her power applies stacking status effects that progressively cripple survivors.
Each successful “Squeek” hit applies a new layer of debuffs:
1st hit
- Hindered
- Exhausted
2nd hit
- Mangled
- Hemorrhage
3rd hit
- Broken
- Deep Wound
4th hit
- Survivor collapses into a slug state (cannot be healed normally)
This creates a slow-burn playstyle where survivors feel increasingly pressured rather than instantly downed.
Psychological Element
Instead of chasing aggressively, The Nun often marks a survivor and leaves, letting the effects do the work.
This creates paranoia and forces teams to make difficult decisions:
- Do we finish gens while someone is slowly dying?
- Do we risk staying together and spreading panic?
Unique Perk: Divine Deadline
Each time a survivor is affected by The Nun’s power, the Endgame Collapse timer accelerates.
This rewards pressure-based gameplay and creates cinematic finishes where survivors are forced to race the clock while impaired.
Bonus Effect (Team Disruption)
Afflicted survivors temporarily emit the Killer’s Terror Radius, causing teammates to mistake them for the killer and scatter.
This turns survivors into accidental threats to each other and reinforces the psychological horror theme.
Why This Could Be Fun
- Encourages strategic, non-traditional killer gameplay
- Focuses on status management, fear, and time pressure
- Creates memorable endgame moments
- Introduces a killer that feels different without relying on instant downs
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’d love to hear what others think about a killer built around indirect pressure rather than direct damage.
Kind regards,
A concerned survivor who fears the squeek
