Unbalanced but fun Trapper Idea

Give trapper a shotgun.

You only get 2 shots per a trial. Hold control, for 2 seconds to switch from Trap mode to shotgun mode. Shotgun mode lowers movement speed to 4.2 m/s. Aiming the shotgun takes 2.2 seconds, cannot move while aiming, and your max turning speed is 20 degrees per a second. Anything within 6 meters, and a cone of 45 degrees is considered hit when you shoot. Cannot go through walls, unless you stick the the gun real close to a wall, such that the barrel is on the other side. If you manage to get the barrel onto the other side of the wall, an audio que will go off, with a deep voice saying, "Peakaboo!" This way survivors understand the shotgun has made it to the other side of the wall, and so does the Trapper.

Shotgun blast will put healthy and injured survivors in the dying state. There's not even an animation for them going down, they just instantly get on the floor, like they tripped.

More importantly, it can break pallets, even ones that aren't dropped. You can also shoot windows/vault locations. Doing so will make your vault speed on those spots 30% faster, and survivors will vault 30% slower.

To prevent slugging/camping, a stamina feature is introduced. Holding the shotgun for 6 or more seconds causes trapper to enter a fatigue state for 4 seconds, where he can't move or attack.

    Requires tweak.

2.2 aim time 6m range with no movement. Survivors move at 4m/s. They will be 8.4 meters away by the time the gun blasts. Decrease Trapper movement speed to 2.8m/s and lower charge time to 2s flat with an 8m range and a 24 degree cone. To ensure the upmost balance, I would consider increasing the fatigue time to 8s and damage to survivors causing their computers to erupt into flames in real life. Then I would call it balanced.

  • I now struggle not to see Trapper as an angry old farmer shooing kids off his property.

  • Speaking of guns can we give survivors a handgun? Id like to Kill them killers.
