Hook System Rework, Removal of Tunneling and Camping
I woke up and i chose violence, i will hit that stick into ant nest and i dont care.
What do we hate? Tunneling, Camping, Proxy camping, Bodyblocking etc etc etc.
I thought of an idea that maybe could fix that, but it would change that game tremendously. So maybe we could test that on a mode?
—————REMOVAL OF SURVIVOUR STAYING ON A HOOK—————
Sounds crazy? Yes
After hooking a survivour, survivour would be "consumed" by the entity and enter Dormant state and lose hook state.
Hooks become shrines that survivour can interact.
Hooking a survivour ignites 2 or 3 shrines on random hooks on the map that are highlited to other survivours. Interacting with those shrines will speed up survivour despawn and sets despawn location on that shrine.
If all shrines are being used, survivour spawns on the shrine that was used first.
Having 3 survivours in Dormant state at the same time, sacrifices them and reveal aura of last survivour.
Base Dormant state duration: 60s
While in dormant state, you can spectate other survivours
—————WHAT WOULD CHANGE—————
We would remove:
- Unhooking on killers head
- Camping and proxy Camping since you dont have a place to camp
- Tunneling since killer wouldnt know when and where survivour would despawn
Perks that effect carrying speed etc wouldnt be affected since you need to carry survivour to a hook either way.
Basement could be made into Killer shrine that could make some different interaction? There would be no need to hook in the basement now.
We can even remove that annoying aura removing bubble notification
—————PERKS NEEDED TO CHANGE FOR THAT SYSTEM—————
I came up with some changes, but i struggle with some. Some of them just need wording changes
- Killer Perks that would need a change of some sort:
1. Hex: Devour Hope
Upon hooking a survivour, gain a token.
2. Leverage
Whenever a Survivor finishes an action on shrine, they suffer from the 30%/40%/50% healing speed penalty for 30s
3. Make your Choice
Reveals a survivour that successfuly helps survivour wake up from dormant state, and applies exposed for 90s to the rescuer.
4. Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine
Increases Dormant state duration by 20s/25s/30s.
Survivours actively using shrine have their aura revealed. Prevents survivour from spawning on that shrine. Only 1 survivour using shrine can be revealed.
5. Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage
After survivour is despawned after being hooked on scourge hook, applies effect
6. Scourge Hook: Weeping wounds
After survivour is despawned after being hooked on scourge hook, applies effect
- Survivour perks that would need a change of some sort:
1. Aftercare
Instead of unhooking, Finishing shrine action or helping will give you the same effect.
2. Deliverence
After healing survivour with a hook state you gain an ability to despawn immediately.
3. Kindred
Whenever any Survivor is hooked, Kindred activates and applies the following effects:
The killers aura is revealed to all survivours for 5s/6s/7s
- If you are the Hooked Survivor, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to each other.
- If you are not the Hooked Survivor, the Auras of all other Survivors are only revealed to you.
4. Shoulder the burden:
When healing a survivour that has hook state, press active ability to heal them instantly and remove 1 hook state. You become injured, mangled for 30s and gain 1 hook state.
5. Slippery meat
While being in dormant state, you can try to fight entity to wake up faster. if you wont succed, Dormant state gains duration.
6. We'll make it
After spawning survivour on a shrine, Gain 100% healing speed for 90s
7. Breakdown
After hooking survivour, hook would insta break for 180s
8. Dead hard
After despawning perk activates
9. Desperate measures
Removal of unhook speeds
10. Leader
Removal of unhook speed
11. Second wind
After despawning, perk activates
12. Resurgence

2. Blood rush
3. Borrowed time
4. Camaraderie
5. Wicked
6. Decisive strike
7. No one left behind
8. Off the record
