More skins = More bugs?
I see a certain correlation between the number of skins and bugs in the game. The more emphasis is placed on creating new skins, the more bugs appear in the game and nothing is done about them. For example, at the moment:
- Blight can now bump into survivors - this bug makes the chase easier for him. Will we fix it quickly or disable it for 40 days like it was with the Knight?
- Wesker when combining addons, now makes all survivors exposed from the very beginning of the game. Will we fix it quickly or disable it for 40 days like the Knight?
- The Undone perk no longer works with the failed skill checks of the Oppression and Overcharge perks. Before patch 8.5.0, everything worked stably.
- Game Afoot has not worked since 2024 if not since 2023 with the killer's abilities. I've seen dozens of posts asking to fix this perk. It hasn't worked for over a year. Are skins more important than game balance?
I can go on with this list all day. The main question is:
Will you finally do something?

A common response to this is “the team that works on skins is different than the team that works on fixing bugs”, but that ignores the reality that BHVR could hire more programmers to work on fixing bugs and have fewer people working on skins. The problem is that fixing bugs doesn’t directly bring in revenue the way that selling skins does. It’s a business decision by BHVR and how they allocate their resources. The strategy has been to fix enough bugs to make the game playable but prioritizing resources on new content that they can sell. They’re betting that you’ll still play the game despite the bugs, and they’re probably rights. Obviously it has been working given the longevity of the game and the stability of the player count.
