2v8 is not the real issue
Splitting queues is.
Right now it feels like that having regular 1v4 queue is an evt than the actual events/modifiers/game modes.
Also BHVR team did something to the BP incentives. Here in Brazil it was 100% for survs everyday between 10:00 to 23:00 hours, but after some evt in June or July this was permanently screwed over.
Saying this just to add to the fact playing 1v4 normally is an evt now.
