Going Next

If you are going to auto DC or give up on hook after 1st down, don't even bother playing the game please. Everyone has bad games, killers they don't like, but it's part of the game and what you signed up for. There are cases where this is fine, if the game is clearly over or you're getting bullied by teammates, held hostage etc, but the amount of DCs 2 minutes into a game are crazy lately in my opinion.

  • Let me know how this post goes for you. Seriously

  • I'm always curious how this is considered a player problem.

Don't mistake me here, there are certainly petty reasons people can disconnect or give up (didn't get the map or killer they wanted, for example). But that's always been the case, for both sides.

This being a more widespread issue as it has been recently isn't an indication of "more players have gotten petty", it's a game problem.

As you said, people tend to think it's not as bad to give up "if the game is over". Well, most games seem to be determined on the first couple minutes anymore. That's not the *players* fault, it's a game balance issue.

If "being found first" means the game is already over and you get 3k BP, that seems like an issue for the devs to fix... Especially if it's gotten bad enough that this many players are realizing that they just aren't getting to play the game.

If "well, unlucky" is all it takes to ruin your match, then the only response survivors have is "go next". It's not like there are actual comeback mechanics that would salvage a bad start for survivors. There's nothing if you don't have a strong start or the killer goes afk instead.

This is exactly the issue. I've always tried to bring this up to people, that addressing the symptoms doesn't fix the source problem. If you cut off branches, the tree still grows. The negative extremes are the root cause of these issues, and have been left to fester for too long.

  • Im of the opinion, that people are relatively smart. Video games are, for the most part, a leisure time activity. Something you do to calm down from the stress of every day life. Therefore, a game should be fun. You would not do something that makes you hate your leisure time more than the stuff you do for a job. That would be illogical.

If a game is not fun for you. Dont force yourself to play it. Your free time is there to make you happy. Everything else is bad for your motivation and mental health.

There are a ton of other games out there that are maybe more fun for you. Single player games let you mostly play at your own pase. Online games will always connects you to other people. That is something that has to be considered when playing them. If you dont like to face 80% of killers in this game, maybe you should not play it just for the 20% of times where you have fun. Thats like playing an action adventure, where 80% of gameplay is awful stealth and only the last 30minutes is actually epic fun. Nobody forces one to play a certain game.

I encourage all that see this: think about what your doing before you hit that "ready"-button. Your decisions matter when playing online with other people.
