Make the second hook state use the same system as the first one
If I recall correctly, way back when, the second hook state used to break keyboards to increase immersion (very intense key tapping, so spooky). Then it got changed to only require a skill check every once in a while.
After that, nothing has interacted with this system. The system is essentially as pointless as the wiggle skill checks. Nothing in the game interacts with it and the skill checks required to press are really easy, being more an annoyance than a fun or rewarding experience.
I suggest we change the second hook state for what would be essentially another first hook state. No skill checks, only the ability to try to unhook ourselves in exchange for some hook progress.
Not only will this be more comfortable, but it comes with the secondary benefit of lightly buffing the Luck mechanic by giving 3 extra chances to unhook ourselves without really making any of the related perks and offerings overtuned or overbearing.
This would also increase the usefulness of self-unhook perks like Deliverance by still being usable even if you're the first player getting hooked. Were this to be too much, a secondary condition could be added so you can only use it once per match (like Decisive Strike).
If I could add a second suggestion, if we can also remove the wiggle skill checks and just switch it for a system that automatically wiggles and with the option to press a button to stop wiggling (for things like getting carried to hatch and stuff like that), that would be fantastic, as I don't think either system really accomplishes anything besides being a pointless annoyance we have to do just because.
