Do you prefer badges and banners over charms?

So it seems BHVR is making less and less charms in favour of badges and banners. The recent rift only had 12 charms. Compare that to a year ago Tome 17 had 31 charms. The community cosmetic contest this year also replaced the charms category with badges and banners.

I know a lot of people never cared about charms and joked about the pages and pages of charms no one used but for me, I care even less about badges and banners. And it's another thing that will collect dust in my inventory. But i'm curious what the consensus is amongst the community.
