Gen rework: mini-game
Everyone who has played Survivor may have gotten tired pretty quickly with the repair system that is basically a passive wait for Skill Checks to occur. While one can surely have fun with Skill Checks, I personally think having a more active repair process would offer Survivors a much cooler gameplay. I'd like to throw this suggestion out there:
Background: The generators are broken because their internal parts are in disarray, and Survivors would now repair a generator by reassembling parts within it. Animations can remain the same.
New repairs:
As a Survivor, when you interact with a gen, a mini game begins and a semi-transparent screen will cover your character/gen (the screen must be semi-transparent and can also not be too big so you can still have some environmental awareness).
The mini-game itself could be simple and function similarly to Pipe Mania, where you have to place either wires or pipes against the flow of either a sparky yellow surge or a glowing green fluid for easy visibility depending on which sides of the generator you are (mini-game is the same except visuals with wiring for short sides, pipes for long sides). The part is granted to you automatically, and the next 2 parts you will receive is shown on the left side, so you can plan accordingly.
A larger example of the mini-game (could be shorter but continous levels):
Wires for short sides, Pipes for long sides, both have the same gameplay:
The glowing Green Fluid as seen outside the generator:
- Skill Checks: BHVR likes Skill Checks, and they definitely would fit in this context too. When you place a wire/pipe, you have a chance of getting a Skill Check. Some parts are in worse shapes than others, and the Rough parts have a higher chance of triggering a Skill Check. If the surge/fluid leaks, you are also faced with a Skill Check.
- Generator progress: Normal as long as you continue to complete the current level or "page" you are on. When the surge/fluid reaches its destination on your screen, you move on to the next "page" so that repairs maintain seamless. The flow of the surge/fluid represents Repair speed, the faster it moves, the faster the gen is repaired (toolbox could cause this and instead of merely higher Skill Check chance, you get a higher chance for Rough Parts depending on toolbox quality, which means higher chance of Skill Checks). So instead of the process being stale without accumulating difficulty, the faster you want to repair, the harder it is going to be. So this risk-reward is amplified with each Survivor repairing the same gen.
- Generator regress: Same as before, but when a Killer kicks the gen, or the gen regresses by other means, next time you enter repairs on that gen you begin with a new "page". Similarly, if the you leave a gen that progresses without you, you begin with a new page next time you enter repairs on it.
If you repair a gen with other Survivors and are out of sync when the gen is fully repaired, even if you visually still need more wires/pipes on your screen, the remaining parts will be instantly autofilled to indicate completion.
Controls:
You enter repairs with and without items using the same controls as before, with Toggle or Hold.
On Mouse & Keyboard, you use WASD and Secondary Action to place parts.
On Controller you use D-pad and Secondary Action to place parts.
You can therefore still look around you.
TL;DR: Repair is a minigame with transparent screen for environmental awareness functioning like Pipemania instead of stale wait for Skill Checks while Skill Checks still occur, faster repairs means more difficulty and Repair progress and regress bar functions the same.

These posts that say everyone knows this or that are really annoying to me.
I like repairing generators. It's relaxing. It's part of why I switch to survivor after playing killer for a while. You just look around and push the button. That's nice.
Dunno about your idea but different people like different things and matter of factly stating stuff is just wrong.
I said "everyone who has played Survivor may have gotten tired. I didn't say everyone has.
When you say "matter of factly stating stuff is wrong" is that a fact? If so, it is self defeating and that makes no sense. Stating facts is not wrong, it is literally the right thing to do, always, like water is wet, gravity exists, 2+2=4, these are not opinions. Stating subjective opinions as facts though, like saying my favorite color, song or visual art is best, that is wrong. I know you got caught up upsetting yourself misreading the first sentence in my post but it would be good if you would make the distinction and not conflate the two.
