For about the past week I've repeatedly retried and revisited the site for linking accounts in order to get cross progression on pc but when it opens the tab for me to sign in it gives me an error code(the password and email are all completely correct.

Is it the PlayStation site giving you the error code? That was the problem I had. I had to log in to the PlayStation site on my phone. For some reason the mobile site works and the PC one doesn't.
