Character filter resets after entering the menu

The new character selection screen has a filter option but does not save the player's input after re-entering the menu. This causes the player to have to set filter options every time which is very annoying and takes away from the quality of life of the new UI system completely.
The issue reproduces every time the player enters the menu system and occurs at all times.
