Xbox Masquerade event not working

I have updated the game and selected the Twisted Masquerade game mode and played a few matches. No invitations spawn nor do any party chests or party totems. I even backed out to the main menu to verify I selected the right option and still nothing mentioned above spawns at all. No blue and gold aura to be seen anywhere. I even quit the game to check for new updates and still nothing. This event this year is off to a terrible start BHVR.
