The ptb doesn't have any real matchmaking and you will just thrown in with some other people
ptb has no match making and no dedicated servers, funny enough thats why a lot of killers feel sloppy when they get ported over to live servers because you don't actually test them on dedicated servers and they jank they bring, like how blight can bump things behind him from playing too fast ect, the wonderous quirks of ping
Weird I mean I guess it kinda makes sense since your basically using 16.66% of the community(people who play on steam) as in the play testers.
How do you know Steam makes up almost 17% of the overall playerbase?
The PTB’s playerbase is far too small to support proper MMR. So it just throws you in wherever.
I'd like to know this as well, do we have stats on player counts per platform?
Not as to my knowledge, consoles very rarely ever release playercounts for games. I would argue this is just a guess or an educated guess.
Nope, and never will. The various UEA's with the consoles prohibit it, and most of the default privacy settings opt out of it.
Wouldn't this be another good argument for more platforms participating in the PTBs?
Not fun to have to wait two more months to see how poopy or not a new killer is with a controller.
I guessing they just divided 100% by 6. PS, Steam, Xbox, Epic, Switch and mobile.
Could be, but it's still a guess. There's Windows store players as well.
Mobile numbers are never included in our soup, as they cannot CrossPlay with us, and is an entirely differently coded game by another dev anyway.
It messes with it only by the means that those who choose to go into PBE are not in the normal game. So yes it does just not how you might of wondered.
Correct so take it with a grain of survivor salt as I'm going more rough estimation.
