Balance should not be determinated by the number of kills.
Balance in these game should be determinated by skill and time, not the number of kills someone gets. Why?
Lets say you are the best killer in the game and you are facing the best survivors in the game; you can either kill them all, kill half of them, or get an entity displeased. There is no way to tell which of these 3 outcomes will be the one to come in place. Even if the killer and survivors are in the same level of skill (which should result in a 2 kills outcome if the grame was balanced).
This is due to multiple reasons.
1 - Survivors spawn next to the ruin and/or gens or not.
2 - Map is pretty avarage with pallets on structures that allow the killer to mind game the survivors or not.
3 - The Survivors tried to go too altruistic or not.
4 - The killer applied map preassure or not.
Notice how the only thing the killer can do is apply map preassure.
As killer (the character that mostly needs time in these game) you are unnable to control it, you just cant control time. Not because your skill cap, but because you dont have any tools to do it.
If one of the first 2 situations doesnt come in place you probably wont be able to kill a single survivor because this 2 situations either buy time (1st situation) or allow the killer to end chases sooner (2nd situation). 3rd situation is because the survivors are making mistakes and not the killer playing good.
The 4 kills outcome can only come in place due to a third factor. Not because the killer is good or because survivors are bad, but because of luck. If you are a lucky killer survivors wont spawn near a gen and you'll have more time to find them therefore you'll begin your map preassure sooner. Your Ruin will be in a good spot and it'll take time for the survivors to find it and you'll also be able to apply more map preassure. You'll have plenty of non-eye-contact loops that'll allow you to mind game the survivors therefore end chases sooner.
Then, and only then you'll have a chance to beat survivors who are at the same level of skill that you are, because you'll have time to prove your skill. If you are an unlucky killer and any of those situations fails to come in place... Good luck.
The only way to actually balance this game is to make the 1st and 2nd situations more consistent. There wouldnt even be the need to add more time to complete a gen or add other objectives.
- For the 1st situation: Remove the antenna of the generator, change totem and survivor spawns so that they can not spawn near gens, cover totems with tall grass or make them spawn behind walls so that survivors actually have to look for them.
- For the 2nd situation: Remove the eye contact loops and in their place put Jungle Gyms, T walls, Long Walls, etc. There could even be new structures implemented to the game.
Thats all I have to say, I would like to read everyone who reads this post their opinions and suggestions because right now I dont see anyone in the forums giving any ideas other than increase gen time or add other objectives... Please be open minded.
